You continue your weird obsession with me that has gone on for two decades. You're so incredibly wrong on your facts, but that's never stopped you before.

We also agree on a lot.

As for MIGS, what Steve conveniently leaves out is I'm the one who contacted Florida authorities when it became clear they were just renting the CEU's degree-granting authority. Florida shut them down. (Steve also deserves great credit for prevailing in an inept lawsuit on their part against him.) MIGS looked like it had real promise at one time...until it didn't. And I don't regret my involvement one little bit. That the matter gets mis-characterized by someone with an agenda is hardly determinative.

Because some people substitute personal attacks for a cogent argument or substantive response to a point made.

True in theory, but I find that often is not the case in reality. I am researching something right now where researchers jumped right to quant studies using crime stats without asking the broader questions first. This isnt the first time I have seen that either.

I think it comes from researcher comfort with specific types of research methods limiting their willingness to actually consider a more appropriate methods.

Well, here is a broader question: Whom do you identify as a criminal for the purpose of your research? I'm not "trolling"; I really would like to know.

I have spent most of the last thirty years professionally involved in virtually every phase of the criminal justice system from legislation through parole and I have a hard time not thinking of defendants (or convicts) as individuals. There seem to be some commonalities, perhaps even very broad baskets, but people really are people and each case is unique.

Weird obsession? Rich, schveetheart, you have been making a total ass of yourself for over two decades. All I do is simply point it out. I have no obsession with you, but do find you to be an embarrassment considering that we share a doctoral alma mater.

You want to be left alone? Stop making an ass of yourself. Stop starting arguments with almost everyone you meet on this board, especially newbies (compared to you), people who are actively pursuing their doctoral degrees, and people who hold a different terminal credential than you do (especially with your J.D. bashing).

Why are you such a glutton for punishment? Why do you still, after all these years, wear a sign on your back that says, "Kick me?" And why do you fail to realize that everything you say on a forum becomes a permanent record? For some entertainment, our readers should check out the post at https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/sarah-palin-black-lives-matter-is-a-farce.48525/page-4#post-480069 - and the other posts in that thread. It's the thread that got Rich banned from DI.

Of course, Rich saying that he will no longer post here is about the same as me saying the same thing - it was only a short time ago that Rich said he would not post here until Kiz returned: https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/job-opportunity-urgent.57042/page-2#post-535301. That didn't last very long. Like I said, Rich is a glutton for punishment. And he deserves every bit of it.

And yes, he even carries his tradition through to this thread, in which her has started ad hominem (his favorite expression) arguments with almost everyone he encounters. No wonder he is such an object of ridicule. You see, Rich, it's not just me that laughs at you - today everyone is laughing at you. But excuuuuuuse me - you have two doctorates. (Even when Rich posted at DLTruth.com, an inane move if I ever saw one, his username there was "Two Doc Doug.") In other words, you should know better.

And to think that I haven't even said how funny looking the picture is that's on your web site.

Anyway, I think I've milked Rich about as far as his udders will allow at this point, so I'm outta here for (as I used to say in trucking) another long haul.

    Hello!

Didn't Dr Levicoff say he would leave - and told everyone in his (supposedly) last post how terrible this board is? So, this meant obviously except to remind us regularly what a laughable person Dr Douglas is and that he was involved in MIGS some time ago? I must admit I am confused.

But well, after all, "this is not my beer" as you would say in Germany.

    Best regards,
    Mac Juli

Personally, I think J.D. bashing is a highly underrated activity. I suspect a large number of my fellow lawyers would agree.

Well, good news for you, then. Since 2010, all six (I think) law schools in my province (Ontario) have conferred JDs exclusively.
Looks like most of the rest of Canada has abandoned the LL.B. too: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_law_schools_in_Canada#Schools_teaching_common_law

So now there are a bunch more JD's - held by Canadians - to bash. Happy bashing!

Far less sport in bashing Canadian JD's.

    Us: "JD's suck!"

    Canadian JD's: "Sorry, bout that."

Not all. Some of us (specially trained) can be just as snarky as you guys. Less trigger-happy on average, though...

I believe that the English invented snark! Canadians being self consciously more English than Brother Jonathan to the South, (excepting the always exceptionable French) I should think Canadian JD bashers would perform the service with admirable proficiency!

As I travel to Canada for work pretty regularly I am well aware that Canadians are not as universally polite as the media likes to joke. Though I have noticed a generally less reliant attitude on the F word in daily interactions.

I assure you, the F word is vibrantly alive in my neighbourhood. No shortage here.

F word? F word..."Francois?" "Frozen"? "Free Health Care"?

I grew up making regular visits to Western Canada and have been there on several occasions since. In general I've been treated very well. Of course, that's BC and the Duchy of Sask Alberta which isn't like Eastern Canada I'm told.
