I use ZOOM all the time at my job and we used it when I was getting my Master's via DL. It's too bad that this is the way people ALWAYS choose to use new ways of communicating. :-(

I've used it for ages as well and have never had a problem. Had two meetings, as an attendee, that were bombed this past week. The worst was a state wide pandemic task force conference call.

The "migration to online" isn't going to go well. They're two different environments requiring two different approaches to education--pedagogy for the classroom and andragogy for the online environment. But I am pretty sure neither the faculty nor the students are ready for this seismic shift. Instead, the faculty try to cram a bunch of teaching into a methodology ill-suited for that purpose. Students, brought up their entire lives being taught, will wonder why there's no "there" there.

If someone could re-orient both populations to the demands and advantages of an androgogical approach to online learning, it could succeed.
