British universities do not typically issue transcripts for doctoral degrees. But they do issue letters verifying the award.

At Leicester, taught doctoral degrees were transcripted by the individual school. Thus, I have to produce a letter from the university and a transcript from the School of Management. (However, because of my Union degree, I haven't had to prove my Leicester degree. I just haveUnion transcripts sent upon request.)

Allegation with regards to the veracity of President Tsai’s degree is merely one of the many under-the-belt tactics used by pro-communists supporters to discredit her. In the past, she has refrained from suing critics and political opponents in the name of freedom of speech.

However, given communist China's recent intensified meddling in both Taiwan's internal and external affairs as well as a disturbingly visible section of pro-China population, it is inevitable that she has to take a firmer stance if she and the DPP are to win the upcoming 2020 Presidential and Legislative Yuan elections.

Counsels for President Tsai have submitted documents to the Taipei District Court from numerous sources including LSE confirming the authenticity of President Tsai’s dissertation and doctoral degree. An original printed copy of her dissertation has been made public since September 27, 2019 at the National Central Library, while digital copies can be accessed on the library's website.

I have downloaded a copy of the thesis from the central library and I can see why some may query the authenticity of the PhD thesis.
Within the pdf file, there are 2 letters of notification verifying that she passed the thesis viva, but neither one of them has been signed. Would this be unusual?
I am not an academic and would be interested in seeing what people think?

    Thanks for your prompt reply.
Yes, there seems to be political motivation behind this. I guess I’ll just wait and see how it develops.

No, not really. The university has verified the degree is legitimate and that should be an end of it.

Wonder if that will translate into a respite from the PRC propaganda effort at DegreeInfo?

I do not think we have seen the last of our Chinese friends. And I must confess that I prefer their propaganda to the usual keto spam. It's more amusing.

When people really don't give a crap, they tend to keep their mouth shut. Who bothers to waste time just not to give a crap with crap? LOL

The degree scandal is real and severe in scope. To gain a true understanding of the PhD-degree scandal that involves Taiwan President Ing-wen Tsai, LSE, and The University of London, I recommend you all to read the scholarly, non-partisan report: https://www.dropbox.com/s/anfbbo66fql90cu/Lin_report_OCT2019_Eng.pdf?dl=0

Read the independent scholarly report on the Tsai degree scandal: https://www.dropbox.com/s/anfbbo66fql90cu/Lin_report_OCT2019_Eng.pdf?dl=0
There is so much fake news around to try to cover the degree scandal. After you read the report, you will see finally the dark side of Taiwan President Ing-Wen Tsai.

This is Tsai's thesis which she said is written for almost two years and one month for correction. And just at page 18
(p50 of PDF) there is 6 correction by hand as shown in the image.
Do anyone that has written any doctor or master thesis will believe that thus a thesis can pass her professor and viva committee, is LSE's master thesis's standard is so low to accept this and would not tell Tsai to re-type this two pages?
This image is taken from the thesis PDFs provided by Tsai. We do not care about Tsai's election, but we do care Tsai's thesis is fake or not. If LSE will allow this kind of manual correction as their doctoral thesis???

The unsigned notifications have no credibility, and I think the two letters are the evidence that she got a fake PhD degree.

Can someone tell me how the President of Taiwan could get her PhD degree in Spring, 1984 and supervise a graduate student passing his oral defense in Spring, 1984 as well? 494567.jpg

How can she got a PhD in 1984 if her thesis was available only after Oct 2019? And her supervisor Michael J. Elliott was an undergraduate.
