    Yes,

In this case, it will be less than 100$ per graduate credit.

I haven't seen anything about the assessment or competency based schools accepting MicroMasters programs for either undergraduate or graduate credit. If they're not then maybe they should.

I don't get the rationale behind calling the graduate certificate Micro-Masters.
We all know that in this case its 25% of the Master's degree so if Micro - is a prefix which means small, reduced, magnifying. As a unit of measure, micro- means one millionth part of.
25% of the degree is not micro, it's not mini Its Post Baccalaureate, graduate-level certificate. I think Cursera calls it Master Track certificate.
I would call it MBA certificate, at 50% an MBA advanced certificate, at 75% MBA Diploma, and at 100% MBA Degree.

I've long said that names like nanodegree, MicroMasters, and especially Mini MBA are terrible ideas.

I agree with MBA certificate and MBA advanced certificate, but not the MBA Diploma because I think that term is also misleading. Most people associate the term MBA diploma with the certificate a person gets when he or she completes an MBA program, and that means these people will probably think someone with an MBA diploma (as defined by yourself) actually has a real MBA. In a way, it's even more misleading than the term Mini MBA.

    Mintaru,
Maybe - Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, Advanced Graduate Certrificate in Business Adminisntration, Advanced Graduate Dipoma in Business Administration.
And use MBA only when Masters degree earned.

Yes, that's much better. By the way, the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration already exits at quite a few schools, many of them outside the US, especially in Australia where that's an official qualification. However, it's not a degree, therefore, I think it's no problem if (for instance) edX also offers a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.

I didn't find a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration on Heriot-Watt's website, but there is a Graduate Certificate in the Mathematical Sciences. That's a bit surprising since I thought schools in the UK always call it Postgraduate Certificate. In the end, however, there is, of course, no real difference between a Graduate Certificate and a Postgraduate Certificate. (except four letters)

I don't see it either but I'm sure there used to be the option of, Certificate > Diploma > MBA. Maybe I shouldn't be sure but I am.

Typically there is only one difference. The distinction is sometimes found in the admission criteria. In some cases, a Grad Cert allows admission with a Bachelors degree. In some cases a PostGrad Cert requires that the applicant already have a grad degree, thus making it Post -Grad. In both cases the course are grad-level and so if you just look at the curriculum there may seem to be no difference. This, I believe, is the distinction although it may not hold true 100% of the time.

That may be true in the US and many other countries, but not in the UK. Very most British universities use the term "postgraduate ..." the same way as US universities use "graduate ...".

Well I suppose it's not a big surprise to find that two different countries, using two different higher ed systems, have some terminology differences.

I hate to bump an old thread, but in looking for an online graduate level certificate in business administration or leadership, I found this thread. I have a few questions because the term "MicroMasters" is quite new to me and slightly confusing. Is this a graduate level certificate with earned credit hours? I'd prefer to stay with this route, rather than CEU course(s). Does anyone have any feedback on this specific program? Not much else online about it. Thanks!

    Maybe something like this?

As much I like those courses, but I am not sure how can you market with a "MicroMaster," "Nanodegree," and "MiniMBA." They sound cheese and less value than a "Graduate Certificate" in the traditional sense. UMass at Dartmouth sounds better...

    MasterTrack academic and professional credentual.

I think its good for some who is an Engineering professional or other discipline and advancing to management who needs to add business management skills, tools, etc.

MIT statement - MicroMasters program courses offer the same learning and challenge as MIT courses.
