CNN is reporting that Mueller's spokesman said that the characterization of the documents and testimony in the BuzzFeed report is not accurate.

It sounds like they are disputing certain parts of BuzzFeed's report.

It's unclear what parts Mueller doesn't like? Perhaps just the characterization that the leak may have come from his team or? The moral is that we still need to be careful not to get ahead of the story, I'd say.

I don't know how other networks handled it, but on CNN, they kept giving the disclaimer that they hadn't independently verified the story.

Agreed. I was referring more to the inflamed talk of impeachment. What is needed is a methodical and complete investigation and if it's found that it is as bad as it looks likely, that will convince a large majority of Americans that impeachment and removal from office is a non-partisan need. Otherwise, we just vote him out in 2020.

That, and I always wonder whether Democrats who talk about impeachment have considered how much less they might like President Pence than they do even President Trump.

I am a Democrat who talks about impeachment. I dislike Pence. In all likelihood I disagree with virtually every one of his policy positions. Like most politicians, he has probably bent a lot of rules but I have no real reason to think that he is dishonest. He knows Washington and has at least some track record of working in a cooperative manner. To me, he is the lesser of two evils.

Of course, there's no real reason to believe that he won't be implicated in some sort of mischief himself. How about if both Trump and Pence get impeached? How would those Republicans feel about President Pelosi?

The House can vote for impeachment, but that doesn't mean that the compromised Senate will vote for removal. This isn't the Republican Party of Nixon's era.

Why exactly would Trump be impeached? What would be the specific charges, and what evidence is there to support them?

You can’t impeach someone just because they won an election, and you didn’t like the outcome.

The fact that the President of the United States or his close proxies has to lie about things a foreign power (or Russia, which is a criminal gang with superpower delusions, a bunch of rusty nuclear missiles, thousands of tanks, and a broken aircraft carrier) is aware of should be scary for anyone, regardless of whether there's a legal or political case for impeachment.

Can't believe THIS is what a party of Reagan is reduced to. Say what you will, but the man was always clear about "evil empire" and "tear down this wall".

    Where is the evidence?

We’ve been strung along by the Mueller probe for 2 years, with the promise of the smoking gun just around the corner.

It’s a complete scam, and the Democrats desperately want to keep it alive until the 2020 election.

I can’t believe the party of John F. Kennedy has come to this.

Just checking in, when can we expect the smoking gun of Trump/Russia collusion?

So far, there's only proof that Roger Stone communicated with Wikileaks and lied about it. We know that Wikileaks was backed by Russia.

Where is the evidence that Trump colluded with Russia?

We'll have to wait for the Mueller report. The Justice Department doesn't give us their findings as they come because that would compromise the investigation. You should know how investigations work.

I’ve been involved in murder investigations that took less time than the Mueller scam.

As Peter Strzok said, “There’s no there there”. When the Mueller Report says just that, cue the cries of “Coverup!!”.

Mueller will go from liberal hero to pariah in the blink of an eye.

Clinton was investigated for a couple of years and so was Nixon. Mueller is an honorable veteran and a lifelong Republican unlike the draft-dodging, orange blob in the White House who is hiding his SAT scores for a reason.
