The first leaning university

There's a new (at least to me) mill that has two firsts. Silver Field (or Silverfield) University.

It is the first leaning university (unless there is one in Pisa). From the website: "Silver Field University is one of the leaning university that offers top-notch education..."

And it seems to be located on an air force base.

    Not cheap!
“Good news on cost of SFU Financial aid is based on the total cost of attendance: $70,250 for academic year 2016-2017, which includes tuition, board, books and personal expenses. Families whose total gross income is less than $65,000 (with typical assets) are not expected to make a contribution towards their child's SFU education. Over 12% of SFU undergraduate families have an expected family contribution of $0.”

SFU is an Axact clone, November 2017 batch.

Lawrence Aronhime seems to be connected to Johns Hopkins. I wonder if he knows that he's a front man for this Silver-thing.

I thought that their web design looked vaguely familiar.

I did a web search for some of the text on their "accreditation" page and it comes up for "Southeast Pacific University" and "Costa Ford University".

Phdtobe's tuition text is on "Nestor University's" website as well.

Good one, Dr. Bear - and I'm sure you realized immediately what kind of "school" this was.

I'm somewhat baffled as to how other long-time members could read this site and not realize it was a scam - until they were told by an expert in such matters. The amount of incorrect English on the site is a giveaway in itself - not to mention the sudden appearance of a university no one never heard of, with 70 majors and 16 schools and not a shred of legitimate accreditation or its equivalent.

And as to those high costs, Phdtobe, that text is probably lifted by the Axact felons from the site of an RA school. "Silverfield" itself lists Bachelor's program costs at $9,400 total - degree duration under two years, scholarships available.

Some of you need to put on a pot of stronger coffee.

And it's definitely not the first "leaning University." The University of Pisa was officially established in 1343, although scholars claim its origin in the 11th century. https://www.unipi.it/index.php/university/item/2325 The famous Tower predates the official establishment of the University by a couple of centuries. I don't believe the Tower is part of the campus. It's the freestanding bell tower of the Cathedral.

Interesting collaboration. University of Pisa and a Chinese University: https://www.unipi.it/index.php/english-news/item/13609-a-joint-school-of-excellence-between-the-university-of-pisa-and-the-zhejiang-ocean-university-is-born-in-china

"No one never heard of?" Talk about incorrect English! Sorry - typo, just noticed. "

Actually, two experts. Dr. Bear, who described it as a mill - and mbwa shenzi, who cited the Axact connection. And I'm sorry for falsely believing any members were taken in by the site - obviously not so.

Please, Lord, let this be the last apology I have to make today...

I left my contact information December 3 on their website. They haven't contacted me. Perhaps they searched my name on the Internet and concluded that I wouldn't really want a diploma from a leaning university?

I wouldn't go that far. They could have done a search and found me belittling academic frauds. Or even posting on this forum might have been enough to scare them off? I don't know. They could still call? Heck, I would be willing to send them say $20 for a PhD diploma and maybe even write them a page of text explaining why I think I deserve a PhD from a leaning university. Much more fun though would have been to post about it in this forum.
