    Hi all,

Does anyone know of any such degrees available through online/distance education in history of science or history of astronomy? I'd like to pursue such studies, but can't seem to find anything in this area.

Thanks in advance for any help or pointers you can give.

As for the History of Astronomy, I'm betting there's no such Masters program, online or otherwise. To specific, too esoteric. If you'd like a course or two you could start by looking at Swinburne in Australia.

Thanks. I took courses at Swinburne (I did 7 of the 12 required for the MA in Astronomy some years ago) but they ceased to be a good fit for me (their grading became erratic; comments even from the same professor I'd had in prior courses went from supportive and helpful to snotty and dismissive) and their registrar put me off trying to get my credits to count toward a certificate or diploma. So, not a fan of Swinburne.

It seems like so many areas I'm interested have dried up in the past decade (there was an Australian university - John Henry? - whose astronomy degree focused more on history; it isn't there any more; the humanities degree from one of the California universities also disappeared).

You might take a look at such Great Books schools as Faulkner University or Harrison Middleton University.

There is an old thread on astronomy degrees. Maybe someone can help me find it. But I recall that some Australian school(s) offer BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Astronomy.
