Hello all, I wish to ask if there is any website where one can find a mentor? I really need one and have gotten to his point on my own but I think I would have done better and will do better if I had/have a mentor. I have a degree and masters in Linguistics and now I am about to start an Ed.D programme in Language teaching and learning in University of Sheffield, UK. I currently lecture in Chongqing University in China. Please kindly advise me.
My own experience is that you probably already know the person who would be a good mentor for you. Look around you. Think of the people you've known with whom you felt a connection. Beyond that, try this http://www.proteacher.net/ http://www.teachingtips.com/library/education-as-a-career-faqs/resources-25-useful-forums-and-blogs-for-new-teachers/ https://www.edutopia.org/
Once you start at Sheffield, be sure to reach out to faculty members and fellow students. Rather than finding a single mentor, you may find value in getting many people's points of view.
