West Virginia to impeach 2 Supreme Court Justices? https://www.npr.org/2018/08/13/638252387/west-virginia-house-votes-to-impeach-a-state-supreme-court-justice
Maybe West Virginia needs a couple of Martha Stewart Memorial Cells - and hey, maybe Paul Manafort could get them a deal on rugs ... he certainly knows how to pick 'em. https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/compost/wp/2017/10/31/how-paul-manafort-came-by-934350-in-antique-carpets/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.b5e37063216b
Interesting story. Should the impeachment vote be taken at face value or is this a form of judicial coup? The W. Va. Court system has not been without controversy over the last many years. I seem to recall that the U.S Supreme Court had some unpleasant things to say about the coal-industry connections of one of the Justices when he ruled on a coal-industry related appeal. Ultimately, though, impeachment is not a legal proceeding, in W. Va. or the U.S. Capitol. It's a political act and not subject to judicial review.
