Taft vs Cal Coast Ed.D

Quick question about either Taft or Cal Coast Ed.D programs (and yes, I'm aware of the NA status and I'm fine with it):

If both are DEAC accredited, is one better than the other? I can actually find quite a bit more CCU EdD grads online at universities, than I can Taft. Taft is potentially cheaper, but CCU seems to be better in content. CCU requires (at this point, although I hope it changes) an on-site dissertation/graduation, which is costly and not convenient.

Then, of course, there is the UNG EdD (RA) program which looks appealing, but they have been incredibly good at ignoring my emails with questions, and seem as if they don't want me as a student. I also am not a fan of their curriculum, as much as the others.

What would YOU ALL do? I've applied to, and been accepted by, Taft. I've begun the application process with CCU......

Worth noting that I have a FT job in education (community college level administration) and have my 5th child on the way (thus, the self-paced piece is very appealing).

 

If there is a substantial difference between these two degree programs (and I don't know that there is) then I would seriously suspect that this difference would be lost on the average employer. I just don't think that most employers spend their time scoping out the fine distinctions between these programs. So if you like one program over the other then that should be more of a determining factor in your decision, not what you think some other person(s) might think because the chances are that they don't actually know much about either program. If you think one is more likely to accept a specific dissertation topic in the area of your interest is another factor to consider as is the price of the program. Either way, best of luck.
