Northcentral University has launched a Doctor of Criminal Justice program which makes it the second DCJ program in the United States. Unlike the Cal U of PA program, NCU's DCJ has a dissertation requirement. However, the 62k price tag may not make it so attractive!

I actually just noticed this program myself about 5 minutes before I saw your post. The $62k price tag may seem higher than the $42k for Cal U, but NCU's program can be stretched out over 7 years. Cal U's DCJ must be done in 2, no exceptions, so it's a lot of money spent over a very short period of time. On top of that, St. Leo University also just launched an online DCJ (https://www.saintleo.edu/criminal-justice-homeland-security-doctor-degree). Tuition is not posted yet, but their DBA is $900/credit. I imagine this will be similar.

Oh, wow... I guess they realized there is a high demand for online professional doctoral programs. I was getting ready to start the DPA at West Chester University but I am going to look into St. Leo's DCJ. I feel way more comfortable with criminal justice coursework. Thanks for that link :)

Designed to be completed in 2 years

The first cohort to begin in Fall 2018 (cohort target size: 18 – 22)
60 credits (3 research courses) – dissertation required (12 credits)
    Specializations: Homeland Security and Education
Online courses with three residencies required
    Tuition: $750 x 60 credits = $45, 000 (in and out of state)
