The President of Quincy University in Illinois claims a Master's degree from La Salle University. On official university literature, he makes the statement is made that this is LaSalle in Philadelphia. Under questioning, he acknowledged it is from the fake LaSalle that was in Louisiana. The degree is claimed in 1985. LaSalle apparently started in 1986. Same bloke claims another Master's from the legitimate Canisius, but they have no record of that.

But also, oddly, he lists another Master's from St. Hyacinth (regionally accredited) and a doctorate from Drew University, which checks out.

So why would he list the LaSalle degree at all, one wonders, and defend it? And would Drew have admitted him if they had known?

The local paper is on the case, and there may well be a story in the next few days at http://www.whig.com/

Quincy University announced its president has resigned amid questions about his academic credentials. The Quincy Herald-Whig reported that the Rev. Eugene R. Kole did not earn graduate degrees from Canisius College in New York and La Salle University in Philadelphia.

    Thanks, Kristin.

Here's the story from the local paper:
    http://www.whig.com/news/newspro/viewnews.cgi?newsid1035830576,67680,

According to the reporter who wrote it, the great wind rushing across the prairie was the collective sign of relief from the Quincy University faculty, many of whom had apparently been trying for some time to explose this man, but the powers that be at the college would hear none of it.
