I realize that they are a feature of the new software, but what is their purpose? What kind of posts are they supposed to host? Whatever they are supposed to be, the moderators need to keep an eye on what people are doing there. Right now, several of the posts seem intended to post advertising links. One is a link to what appears to be a porn site in India.
My current understanding is that it is similar to the feature on Skype or Facebook where you can update your status. What is a status? Whatever you want it to be. You can say "It's a good day!" or "I like turtles!" or "The opposing political view is obviously wrong!" I can't see any other use for it, so for now I'm concluding that it's more or less an electronic version of a vanity plate. If anyone else has more information than I do, please let us know With the new change, even us Mods have new things to learn.
Clement Fabiana has a link to a porn site on his 'information' page and two more to the same site embedded in text on that page.
There seem to be a bunch of advertising links in the profile posts now. 'Search engine optimization' I guess. 'ZH European Quality Poultry', from Beijing China naturally. What could be more European than that? 'Psychic Readings' from London. The link to Climent Fabiana's 'VR Dolls' porn site is still there. If the moderators don't care, I guess that I shouldn't either.
Any such forum posts that I report disappear either because of or independent of my reports. Nothing happened when I reported a profile. Maybe the moderators can't change the profiles.
