    From the article:

"Niagara College is working on a certificate in marijuana production..."

My alma mater (first of three). Maybe I should go back? No surprise, actually. They've had an on-campus brewery for teaching beer-making for at least 20 years and they're right in the middle of wine country, teaching all aspects of that industry. So...
    Good school.

Marijuana sales creating new revenue for schools - children's programs? Now just what's going to be in those fund-raising cookies kids sell? :emoji_astonished:

Do the states have the right to nullify federal laws?

It's much better to grow polyester. Or even nylon.:emoji_kissing_heart:

Oh that is inside joke to myself. I will do anything in life except picking cotton.

The pioneer in that is Oaksterdam University in Oakland. (Ain't Oakland great?)

    https://oaksterdamuniversity.com/

They don't offer degrees but they do have distance learning

    https://www.oaksterdamuniversity.online/

As Bruce notes in post #181, the Feds raided Oaksterdam in 2012.

Side note: Perhaps police training needs to instruct police officers in the existence of door knobs. Reports were that the federal agents smashed open every door in Oaksterdam's facility, breaking door jambs rather than opening doors like normal human beings. It appears that part of their purpose in raiding the thing (presumably to serve a search warrant) was to cause as much destruction as they possibly could.

But Oaksterdam is still there. As far as I know, nobody's gone to jail.

Does anyone have a map that shows which states have legalized marijuana?

I wouldn't worry about it. It won't grow in the Far North, where you told us you have worked for years. :)

"I left my baby in Mississippi
Pickin' cotton down on her knee
I left my babe in Mississippi
Whoo-ooo, pickin' cottton down on her knee
    Yeah
She said, 'Babe, you get Chicago all right
Pleee-ase right me a letter, if you please
    Yeah..."

"Cotton Patch Girl" - by Tommy McClennan, recorded Nov. 22, 1939 in Chicago

One of my favourite blues singer/guitarists of all time. As exciting as John Lee Hooker, another great Mississippi-born musician who came on the scene years later. (John Lee's first records were released in 1948).
Unfortunately, alcohol got the better of Tommy and he became too unreliable to work as a musician. I believe he died, still in Chicago, about 1962

I’ll be singing the blues if I was picking cotton. Hey, but I love rum, I have no psychological issues with sugar cane.

I liked 151-proof rum, among other things, like bourbon. I had no psychological issues with alcohol for 40 years. Then I thought I was getting some, so I quit. Not saying anyone else should - not at all. But, over the ensuing years, I saved quite a lot of money that way - and still have it. That tastes better to me than liquor ever did. I'll take it... I can now better afford my other semi-addictions, like musical instruments, books, tools etc.

Didn't like paying for any more stuff that was 50% water and 90% tax.
