I'm glad they offer this for in-state teens. But the title of us got me excited. :(.

"Free Tuition for Currently Enrolled Michigan High Schoolers" would have been a better article title for Chronicle to use; free tuition for only teens ignores adult learners whose parents didn't/couldn't help them when they were a teen, or currently enrolled U of M college students. Maybe U of M could offer this to low earning adult students in-state too. It's frustrating that all these programs for "free tuition" are popping up now, when there was nothing like this when we were young. What's the difference in giving Michigan teens vs adults free tuition for in-state... if they went to Michigan high schools at some point, and earned some GPA at some point in time?
