Do you mean NCU.edu? NSU.edu (Norfolk State University) in Norfolk, Virginia received its accreditation from SACS about seventy years ago. Nova.edu (Nova Southeastern University) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida recieved its accreditation from SACS about thirty years ago.
What I find very unusual is NCU's placing it's membership with the Online Better Business Bureau on its webpage. A school in candicacy status that will be reviewed in October for regional accreditation would not seem to need to rely on such an association. Quite frankly it appears to detract from their attempt to convey credibility to prospective students. Achieving regional accreditation should be the primary emphasis relating to this school's mission, not affiliation with the BBB or related associations. http://www.ncu.edu/
Gert, Thanks for the clarification. You're right, the one in Arizona who is seeking accreditation is "Northcentral university".
"What I find very unusual is NCU's placing it's membership with the Online Better Business Bureau on its webpage" I agree that it seems a bit strange – but having been an on-ground and distance student for quite a few years I can see the merit in it. At most schools when you have a problem you often have to complain to the person that caused the problem, with predictable results. I wish I had a BBB to complain to on more than one occasion. Perhaps NSU will start a trend.
