    No permanent names yet, though.

I'm looking forward to their getting to the island of stability.

I'm sure my kids will be excited to hear that they have new elements to memorize for their science classes.

I'm pretty certain that it is in the South Pacific.

I remember decades ago there was a prediction that 118 would be stable. Moving on to higher numbers.

While I assume the others will get names ending in -ium, I wonder whether element 118 will get a name that ends in -on, since it's a noble gas (sort of).

Nope. I'm pretty sure all it takes is a "three hour tour."

I like "moscovium" (115) better than its place-holder name - ununpentium. That sounds like "dud computer." Tennessine sounds great, to my ears. Maybe one day there'll be Kentuckion, Alabamine and Mississippium, too!

Tom Lehrer, we need you again

It's time to update his wonderful Elements song. (Here's a YouTube version:

(According to Wikipedia, Lehrer is still going strong at nearly 90.)
