Some people might remember that this is my alma mater so I'm just getting that full-disclosure thing out of the way. I wanted to point out that while Wemtworth is predominently a B&M school they do have three online Masters degree programs, Construction Management, Facilities Management and Technology Management.

Wentworth is highly respected! My older sister graduated from Simmons and married a Wentworth man. Predictably, he is a brainy engineer and she is a brainy Social Worker.

Your information should be helpful to many!

People who don't know that much about Boston don't realize just how many colleges there are in the city. As you mentioned, Simmons is just down the street from Wentworth but you have to pass a few on the way. The easiest to spot is Northeastern but there's also Harvard Medical School, and Emerson and Suffolk, Boston Architectural and Boston Art, the Pharmacy school, the Conservatory, Berklee, Wheelock and the monstrous Boston University and the list goes on and on. There are so many smart people jammed into such a small city that the net effect is that being above average is just average and having a PhD is nothing unusual or special.

"Well, that's the news from Lake Wobegon, where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average."

Love Garrison, but Kismet is not overstating this fact one bit.

Oh, I wasn't disagreeing. D.C. is similar, where Master's degrees are more or less expected, JDs are completely unremarkable, and even PhDs don't get much attention.

In one way Boston is like Cape Cod. The flavor of the area is at least somewhat dependent on the time of year you visit. Boston in the summer is relatively quiet, nice little city. Traffic is not horrible, parking is not horrible, you can walk right in to most restaurants, etc. And then at the end of each summer the students arrive. Thousands and thousands of students arrive and the character of the city changes. Everything is more crowded, faster paced and more "urgent." The average age for the city probably drops 20 years and any associated activities become more prominent. The Cape is just the opposite. Quiet during most of the year and then packed with "summer complaints" during the hot months. I still find the shift to be fun but at the same time, I don't actually live in the city anymore.
