I just graduated with my Bachelors in Business Administration and a concentration in HR from Indiana Tech. I want to continue on and earn my MBA (for personal reasons and as well as career growth). I have a few schools in mind and wanted to get every ones opinion on what they would choose. I'm not wanting to spend a ton as I don't want much more student loans and I was trying to refrain from taking the GRE or GMAT. These are a few of my choices... Indiana Tech Indiana Wesleyan University WGU University of Saint Francis Frostburg State University 4 of these schools are in Indiana and none are accredited by the AACSB. The University of Saint Francis is accredited by the ACBSP. So, it's a toss up. Frostburg State will waive the GRE and GMAT and they are accredited by the AACSB and affordable. Suggestions please, and thanks in advance!:newbie:
I would choose the program that most closely matches your expectations and goals. If the cost is close, I wouldn't necessarily go with the cheapest if one of the others has a concentration you are more interested in professionally. Do you plan to take the courses on campus, online or a mixture of both? Because you majored in Business, you probably won't have to complete any prerequisites, but you may find that some MBA programs are about 30 - 36 credits and others are over 40 (or even over 50) credits, so that may impact your cost calculations. Although AACSB is valuable to a school, it may not be an issue for you unless you are hoping to go after a doctorate someday. I don't believe most recruiters search for AACSB graduates specifically.
I plan on doing everything online. I live in Indiana and have been searching out affordable, AACSB schools that either don't require the GMAT or may possibly waive it. I also don't plan to stay in Indiana as most of my family will be living in Florida are already are. I looked at Florida International University, however, I was trying not to creep up to the 30k mark like they are charging.
Actually, there really isn't. When I run a search I get 7 threads with one thread getting into detail about how the school actually is. It's from 2 years ago, maybe it's changed since then or someone has completed their MBA program from there in the past 2 years. So no, there are not so many threads on the topic, but thanks for the advice, it was helpful.
Well, the construction sector is quite blooming these days. You could try for an MBA in Construction project management or an MBA in Real estate and Urban infrastructure. In India, RICS in affiliation to the Amity university have established a campus in Noida and offer degrees in above mentioned specializations with an International exposure. They assure you guaranteed placements and if you still want to continue, you can even opt for a PhD. hope tats helpful
