Love that concept! It's too far for us, but I think that's pretty creative! THANKS!

I left my review of it a few months back here. I've completed the program and am currently awaiting conferral, but not to clog up Cook's post, I'll tack on to that thread.

Sorry for the late response, but Peru State College offered 8-week courses when I attended back in 2007. They offer an MS in Organizational Management. I believe they are also NA-friendly, but that's based on a vague memory of someone inquiring and posting the school's response.

Update: WGU, Liberty, and Keiser won't accept an NA bachelors.... and he was just told the same thing Florida International University. The frustration is that the he was told yes by both schools, paid $, sent transcripts, and then told NA isn't acceptable. This has happened twice (Keiser/FIU), which leads me to wonder if the admissions people know the difference between NA/RA. I suspect not. FIU just ate a month of our time. He is still looking at 4 other programs, I'll keep everyone posted- this thread has been VERY helpful.

Gray- thanks but all three restrict admission to RA BA holders.

Oooh. I bet that's gonna leave a mark....

The discrepancy is likely not the admissions office, but the sales office. (Or whatever they call the people who pitch the school.) The "admissions counselors" (yeah, right) hook the sucker, then deliver him/her to the admissions office who, upon seeing the NA degree, reject the applicant.

    Yeah, not happy.
He has asked for an exception at FIU, and is waiting to hear. FIU has been (in MY opinion) too lame in their communication, online user-friendliness, and transparency. My husband has more tolerance than I do lol. FIU is his first choice because it's a 10 month program with no thesis (I think I frightened him on the thesis process). He didn't talk to anyone in FIU that would be sales- he talked to the graduate school people and advisor (Mr. Chilli). It's unacceptable, really.

Do you have anything from these schools in writing, even email, saying they'd take NA?

Unfortunately no, but that's going to be the new standard :hypnotized:

Good. I'm glad, and I hope he's successful. I encourage people all the time to ASK! I would love to hear that he got it.

So why not bite the bullet and take one from AMU/APU? They advertise acceptance of an NA undergrad "Students are required to submit an official transcript showing conferral of a bachelor's or master’s degree from a nationally or regionally accredited institution."

Unless there is some institutional stigma, it seems this would be the place for him. No special status, no favors, just come as you are.

I've pushed him towards APUS since day 1. Their ed programs are more k-12 focus, and he didn't like the MBA courses...HOWEVER, I'm still pushing him in that direction. He spoke with FIU today and they are going to wait for his official transcript (they have unofficials) before letting him know if they'll make the exception. (WTH difference can that make?) Anyway, he's getting close to deadlines for fall start, so he'll have to choose something soon.

Update- he was accepted into FIU. He has also been accepted into the school he works for, so now he just has to decide (asap!). Thanks for everyone!

Ashford University is regionally accredited and most of their degree plans offer 5 week courses.

    Awesome! Congratulations. :D

(And sympathies, now that you'll have to be the grad-school widow…)

The Union Institute & University is RA with 5 week sessions. It isn't cheap, but I went there (Undergraduate) and I would recommend them if you can afford it . . .
