I am looking for an accredited recognized online university that would accept me into their graduate program (MBA) without an undergrad degree. The field of study I'm most interested in is a Masters in Leadership. I have some college (about 60 credits); I have been working in a leadership position for the last 10 years and currently work for an international medical association based in DC. Georgetown's program is ideal, but haven't heard back on whether they would accept me or not. Does anyone have suggestions on possible schools?

I think this is the only one out there - Self Study MBA Distance Learning Edinburgh Business School

MBA Correspondence Course UK Admissions : Edinburgh Business School
Applications and AdmissionsIf you want to study an MBA programme by distance learning, you should read the relevant Student Handbook, listed below, to ensure that you understand the programme structure. You should then order your first course and start to study as an independent learner.

You can then formally 'matriculate' (be accepted as a student of Heriot-Watt University) when you have downloaded and completed a matriculation form and provided evidence of your prior academic qualifications (normally a degree with first or second class honours from a university recognised by Heriot-Watt University).

Alternatively, you can matriculate when you have passed 3 courses (one of which must be a core course for the MBA).

The EBS Student Handbooks will help to guide you through your programme. They provide background information on EBS and the MBA programmes, as well as procedural guidance notes and a full list of exam regulations.

I would take your considerable experience and knowledge of undergraduate business to good use by CLEP and DSST testing your way to a bachelors degree in 6 months or less. If you already know the material, you will be able to take around 3-4 tests per week simply by brushing up on some of the topics. There are sites online that you can pay for and get access to practice tests that will help you to determine where you are and if you are ready to test or not. Then you can either take the tests or do additional studying on content you are less familiar with. I would recommend the BSBA General Management at Thomas Edison State College. Google "TESC CLEP" and you'll find lots of information on it.

Athabasca University (Canada’s Open University): AUCC, ACU, CAQC and U.S. regional accreditation, e.g., Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)

    RMIT University: MBA (Executive) Online

“Applicants who do not have an undergraduate degree but can demonstrate through professional work experience their capacity to successfully undertake this program may be considered. Typically this would consist of at least 8-10 years of business experience, at least 5 years of which must have been in a management role.”
MBA (Executive) and MBA (Executive) Online - RMIT University

    University of Southern Queensland:

“Candidates who do not have a degree will be permitted to enroll in the Postgraduate Certificate in Business (Business Foundation) only, provided that they have a minimum of 3 years full-time equivalent work experience, which includes relevant experience, as determined by the Director of Coursework Studies. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, they will be eligible to articulate into the Master of Business Administration.”
Programs and Courses - Master of Business Administration (MBAD)

Note: Possibly there are additional MBA programs that you could negotiate an exception to a standard admission requirement (i.e. baccalaureate degree) via your industry experience and a high GMAT score (?).

No offense, the reason Georgetown University is not replying back to you because the administrators are currently sitting at their desks and laughing. The only US based school would waive your undergraduate degree for Master degree was Northcentral University, but you have to have at least 120 undergraduate credits. However, that option is no longer available.

As other member said, only British, Canada and Australian still on that route. If you have extensive knowledge and experiences, why's not enroll yourself in one of the BIG three, or Western Governors University, or Northern Arizona University?

Aspen University (DETC) used to admit students to some of their masters programs without a bachelors degree (provided that they could show 15+ years of work history). Unfortunately, they no longer of this option.

You sound motivated and capable, re-read ryoder's comment above....pick one of the "Big 3" Thomas Edison, Excelsior, or Charter Oak....go knock out those last 60 credits mostly via credit by exam and finish your bachelors. Then instead of "what school can I wiggle into" you can ask "where do I want to go and earn my MBA".

If you worked directly for President Bush you could enroll at Harvard Business School without a bachelors degree.

haha....I didn't even know Bush went to HBS. Always associated him with the Eli Whitney crowd over at Yale

Yep. He went to HBS after being rejected from the Univ. of Texas Law School. The first and only POTUS to have an MBA.

Shrub graduated Yale in 1968 and HBS in 1975. I believe his undergrad was in history.

One can fully matriculate into The Open University's triple accredited MBA program without a Bachelor's degree by completing a Professional Certificate in Management which entails three courses.

Although three courses at OU is like a year's worth of study, isn't it? It's not like on the North American system where someone will take ten courses in a year.

I say look into obtaining a bachelors degree first - you could earn one in a year or two by researching degreeinfo.com. Then no problem getting into a masters program at many schools.

In my experience companies are suspicious about hiring someone with a masters but not a bachelors.

My understanding is that the OU is not an option for residents of the Americas.

That is correct; the OU describes the coursework as taking a year to complete and the courses are do not apply to the MBA program requirements unlike the EBS MBA.

Select United States and the site should list the programs available for USA residents. Not all programs are available but there is a selection of graduate IT, management, education, law, science and a few undergraduate degrees in science. I intend on finding out for certain regarding the MSc in Computing.

My advice is to get a Bachelors degree first then a Masters!:surprised:

Not to deviate from the subject of the thread, but are you suggesting that admission to Harvard Business School (or any other ivy league institution) can be purchased, obtained as a political favor, etc.?
