Has any heard of The International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC)? I am looking at Six Sigma options.

    I like the following option:

    On-Demand Web-Based Certification Testing

Interesting, looks to be a good alternative to campus based or ASQ/Moresteam certification programs.

Never heard of yet. For what it's worth, I've yet to see any SS certification hold more weight than ASQ. However, from a personal perspective, the Pyzdek Institute is going a great job of teaching the discipline and should be considered.

I know that. I am also looking at the SSBB program at the hospital group I work for. They have a SSYB, SSGB, and SSBB program. It is a 12 hospital IDN so it will probably hold close to the same status as GE or Motorola. The SSBB is a 4 week (5 days a week / 8 hours a day) program.

I personally do not use Six Sigma, outside of manufacturing it seems to be past it's "hey day". Even still I see the value in the tools taught, and some of the methodologies. Something like this might be perfect for me since I do not hang my hat on SS and for like effort I'd rather be SCRUM, PMI-ACP, or some other methodology that is emerging. Just my $.02. However if I worked in manufacturing, I could see the money and time spent on a SS certification from ASQ being the better option.

If you are planning to stay with your employer, I'd say that going through their program is a great idea. I've worked with a few large corporations who actually favored their own internal programs over those offered by ASQ/Villanova/etc. because they are able to customize each program to the unique needs of their own business.
As for the length of the program, the 4/5/8 format seems to be about the norm. It really does take that much time to cover everything. Good luck and let me know if I can help with anything.
