For some reason, your pic is broken. I DID access the web-location and yeah, it's pretty funny. Here's some of the text, for those who haven't seen it:

    1. He had only one publication
    2. It was in Hebrew
    3. It had no references
    4. It wasn't published in a refereed journal
    5. Some even doubt if He wrote it by Himself
    6. It may be true that He created the world, but what has He done since then?
    7. His cooperative efforts have been quite limited
    8. The scientific community has had a hard time replicating His results.

There's much more. Suggest you try this link and you should see the original:

PS - yes - this link works.

" He expelled his first two students for learning. "

This is just stupid, and it follows a trend that I've noticed in recent years. For one thing, 9/10 of everything I hear people say the Bible says aren't actually in the Bible. In this specific case, I have noticed a rather odd push in liberal culture to truncate the name of the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad" to the "tree of knowledge" as a way of making Adam and Eve sympathetic characters. They only wanted knowledge!!!! God was trying to keep them in the dark!!!!

It's rather ironic, considering that that is exactly what Satan deceived Eve into believing. He LIED to her, in much the same way the college I work for constantly LIES to its students about what the Bible teaches. He (Satan) is called the "father of the lie" for that reason. In reality, Adam and Eve chose, not to LEARN what was true- which is something God was not holding back from them- but to DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES what was true. What could possibly be more anti-knowledge and anti-education than that? What dissertation would be accepted by what field where people simply proceeded to declare that whatever they wanted to be true was true because all this learning and getting things correct is just too inconvenient and doesn't fit what the writer wants out of life?

Unless, of course, this magic didn't occur at all.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. That's why God gave man free will.

Wow... I thought this was something to have fun with. Didn't know people would get their panties in a twist over it.

I don't have my panties in a twist. As you can tell by my signature I'm a man. I don't wear panties. :) As a christian I can take a joke about God with the best of them. Up until the "magic" comment I enjoyed the thread in the spirit in which it was given. That comment was completely unnecessary. If you don't believe...fine...go on to other threads and comment about something you do believe in and just ignore this thread.

Ah, so one side is permitted a voice, but not the other?

    Nice trick.

No trick here. And I will not take the bait either.

Yes. But maybe one day you'll change your mind about that and let people tactfully respond to your question-begging epithets without playing the persecution card. The Bible teaches both to love your neighbor as yourself and that love hopes all things. I'm hopeful for you, neighbor, that there may exist a thread one day in which you will participate in some manner other than drawing a line in the sand :) Do you like beer? Maybe the Beer Thread is a good place to start.

Sorry everyone, I shouldnt have dropped this in a joke thread. It's just been on my mind lately.. it's pretty crazy how often this same, false, idea continues to be repeated so often by so many people.

Anyway, back to the joke, He must have read on DegreeInfo that not even God could get a tenure track position in today's academia.

I used to be taken a bit aback by Douglas Adams' jokes about God in his stories, until I stepped back and tried to look at them from the perspective of others. Now, I'm impressed that he was brash enough to try it, given that he lived in a country that had a state-sponsored church and broadcast his works on state-sponsored media. :D
