OK. But as a lawyer, you know that it does not matter what you thought, but rather how the person perceived your comments. And you have made repeated threats to people on the alt.edu forum and are coming here and doing the same thing. If something were to happen to one of the people you threatened, who do you think the cops would come looking for? Do you think this is ethical behavior as a sworn officer of the court? Here is a direct quote from you with the link provided.

"And, better watch out, I got the Russian Mafia after you..... hear them footsteps coming? Better run, Sam, better run...."

LOL If something happened to "Sam" et al I think Wes is going to have more of a problem learning how to accept praise rather than defending himself.

I haven't made a threat to anyone over there or over here unless you view the absurd ramblings of that miscreant, Sam and his fear of the mafia. Why do I get the impression that you are more than you profess to be? Sam, hey Sam, is that you? Is this a new incarnation?;)

No, I have been a member of this forum for awhile now and I like posting here. Go back and check my posts. Look, I don't want to fight with you at all. I am just saying that as an attorney and sworn officer of the court, you should not make those kinds of statements in public.

Because I am an attorney and an officer of the Court does not mean that I have to give up my sense of humor. Sam is a joke, always has been and always will be. I consider him, in all his varieties, to be obnoxious and a waste of everyone's time. I have taken to sparring with him because it obviously gets under his skin and shows him up for the fool that he is. If it drives him to leave a.e.d. or to drop down to posting profanity, then so much the better.

    academic snobbery

One of the things that education currently does is to enhance the class system. People find out fairly quickly whether they are heading to the top, middle or bottom in society.
In this regard part of the college tradition is some sort of academic snobbery.
When I went to Fl. St.U. my friends in the east admonished the "degree mills" that had been created in the South. When Fl. decided to be serious about a state college system they created schools around the state. Fl.St.U. grew into a 40,000 person campus from a girls sch. (and before that a seminary).
The southern schools bought some of the noble prize winners and near noble prize winners (Fl.St.U. got some) to ehance their credibility.
Now Fl.St.U. looks old and well established compared to Argosy, Capella etc.
I don't know if the academic pecking order does reflect skills or merely attitude. But as much as emotions are real, the academic pecking order is very real, for some people.
    all the best!
