    1. Has the degree(s) met your original goals/objectives? Yes. I completed this degree as a personal goal of mine.

    2. Has the degree(s) opened unanticipated opportunities? No. I’m planning on making a move in the next five years so the answer to this question could change.

    3. If you had it to do over, would you invest the time/energy/money to earn the degree(s)? Said differently, would you do it again? Yes.

Everything worked out for me in the end but I would have done things differently. Instead of burning the bulk of my G.I. Bill completing a couple of trades, I would have completed an AA/AS degree in graphics design, IT (Web Design), journalism, or multimedia design before moving on to a four-year college and finishing up.

Went for a masters in CS to allow me to teach (adjunct or full-time) at the CC level. Am currently in my 7th year teaching full-time at 4-year universities.

The Heriot-Watt MBA gave me the foundation to build on with more specializes work based training and experience in labour relations, and complemented my Athabasca B.Admin. to get into my second master's degree at Queen's for industrial relations.

I think I would've completed a degree in business or information technology. Basically, a degree in demand as opposed to something in the social sciences. One of my biggest regrets, but hey that's life.

It could be worse, you could have a degree in liberal arts. :stooges:

Has the degree(s) met your original goals/objectives?

I think so. My original objective was to use these credentials as a means of improving my career prospects, and since I've first put them to the test by relocating to another area of the country where I had no industry contacts, they've served me well. Being in IT, my experience has also played a big part in this, but I wouldn't have gotten in the door for an interview at my current gig without at least a BS.

    2. Has the degree(s) opened unanticipated opportunities?

    Not really.

    3. If you had it to do over, would you invest the time/energy/money to earn the degree(s)? Said differently, would you do it again?

I would, but wouldn't have spent so much time on the BS (6 years). I'd have gone the test out route to earn the BS and then moved on to grad studies. Or, I would've done something related to healthcare as an undergrad and then done an MS - MIS.

    1. Has the degree(s) met your original goals/objectives? Yes

    2. Has the degree(s) opened unanticipated opportunities? Yes, I have much more upward movement in my career.

    3. If you had it to do over, would you invest the time/energy/money to earn the degree(s)? Said differently, would you do it again? Yes, I would do my MBA again. It only cost me about $2000 out-of-pocket and I have made that back each and every year teaching since 2006. I really got a good education at Regis, and it is pretty well respected,so it was a good decision. But if I could go back in time, I'd get my MBA from an AACSB school to improve my teaching options. When I started looking in 2000-2001, I didn't know much about college-level teaching and didn't know about this forum, so I was working with limited information. Knowledge is power, and this forum has a lot of knowledge.

My undergrad was a dual major in Biblical Studies and Philosophy, my father suggested that I do a second major or minor in a different field and I wish I would have.

I wrote part of the above incorrectly. It should read: "It only cost me $2000 out of pocket and I made that back teaching my first class. I've earned $10-20,000 teaching for each year since 2006."
