I am trying to apply to UNISA through their online application but keep being told that my first name does not correspond with the initials that I have entered. The deadline for 2013 study is today and I do not want to apply through a licensee as they charge much higher application fees that UNISA for the same service.

Has anyone else had this problem, is there a different format of entering your initials in South Africa?

  2. Try swapping your name. You might have placed your surname in the wrong spot.

II also found this problem. Does anyone know the solution?

I found it only wants the initials for the first names, so do not enter the initial for the surname.

Surname = Last Name or family name. Why would anyone enter the initial of his/her surname? A surname is not the same as a middle name.

It has three fields, "surname", "initials", and "first names". I have never seen a form asking for initials before, but assumed that this meant the first letter of each name, as that is what "initials" means where I am from, however, it only wants the initials from your first names.
