Does anyone have any experience with Southeast Community College online? Ive tried searching but there isnt too much information out there. The price point for out of state is pretty darn cheap. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Looks pretty darned expensive to me...unless there is more than one Southeastern Community College. Is this the one you're referring to? Southeastern Community College > Costs & Paying for College > Tuition&Fees
Uh-oh. Wrong school..!!!! Should be Southeast Community College! Tuition, Fees & Housing How do you change the title!?
If you are taking less than 16 credits, and are a North Carolina resident, according to the website, it looks like a good deal. "Tuition is low at SCC--only $66.50* per credit hour, up to a maximum of $1,064.00* per semester, for North Carolina residents. Tuition and fees for one semester in 2011-2012 (fall or spring) for a student who is a North Carolina resident taking 16 or more credit hours are: North Carolina Residents 16 credit hours or more$1,104* Activity Fee (8 hours or more) $32.00 7 hours or less $16.00 Campus Access Transportation & Security Fee (CATS) $10.00 Technology Fee$10.00 Insurance (subject to change by insurance carrier) $1.25/semester I.D. Fee $1.25/semester Less than 16 credit hours $69.00 per credit hour"

Members are not able to change the title of their threads. Not to worry, I changed it for you and edited the name of the school in your question as well.
So, the tuition rates for the school in question are here: Tuition, Fees & Housing $52/credit in-state, $66.50/credit out of state. Seems like a good deal for people looking for an associates degree in business admin, early childhood education, office professional, radiologic technology, respiratory care, or surgical technology. They also offer some diplomas and certificates. Dunno anything bout the school. There's some reviews here, purportedly by students (hit "next" at the bottom to see the next review): Southeast Community College Area - Student Reviews - College Prowler
That is a rather remarkable price. It looks like they offer close to 200 online courses each term and also offer several different online degree and diploma programs. This could end up being the next Clovis Community College.
$66.50/credit hour is a steal...but they are on the quarter system; need to keep that in mind I also did not see an Internet Fee, Clovis charges $50 for that fee. Large class selection also! I'll be looking at Southeast for my next homeschooled child in 2013 - 14. Shawn
Thank you very much SurfDoctor! Just from researching, looks like they have a transfer guide with what class matches to what at University level. Impressive list. Definitely something I am going to look into. Per there website, here is a few that the classes transfer to as they have a partnership: Ashford University Bellevue University BryanLGH College of Health Sciences Chadron State College Clarkson College College of St. Mary’s Concordia University Doane College Kansas State University Midland University Nebraska Wesleyan Northwest Missouri State Peru State College University of Nebraska – Kearney University of Nebraska – Lincoln
Elephant123, those sound like wonderful tuition prices! If you decide to enroll, please let us know what you think.
I pulled up their catalog and looked through it. The only fee they mention is a "student services fee" which is $1.25 per credit.
Another thing I noticed, they offer two Calculus courses; an applied Calculus course, and a Calculus and Analytical Geometry course. Inexpensive Calculus courses have come up on quite a few threads on Internet discussion boards. Doing a straight class by class comparison, Southeast is less expensive. A 3 semester credit course at Clovis, including all fees, is $347.00, A 4.5 quarter credit course at Southeast, including all fees, is $304.25.
Southeast Community College (SCC Home) is located in southeast Nebraska and has campuses in Beatrice, Lincoln and Milford. It also offers 10 programs completely online, as well as more than 300 courses online per quarter. Fall quarter begins Oct. 1. SCC has more than 50 programs, most are technical in nature and can be completed in 18-24 months. In-state tuition is $54 per quarter credit hour; out-of-state rate is $66.50 per quarter credit hour. Fees are a flat-rate $1.25 per quarter credit hour, regardless of in-state or out-of-state.
