These Yahoo articles are complete tripe. I hate the ones that I agree with even more. Holding an outlier up as some sort of representative of the whole is disingenuous at best and shady reporting at worst. All the same, all the same, time and time again. Yahoo's education "articles" are some of the worst I have even seen. I'd rather read about the Kardashians, but I don't.

If you have an Art degree though I'm sure it's music to your ears. I'm just tired of the bad journalism is all.

Hope your success comes to you like the people in the article.

(Almost) no education is wasted, but some degrees are more useful than others. You get to decide what ‘useful’ is in your own context. I just hope the taxpayers find it useful also, if we are footing the bill.

I agree with your conclusions but the article was not written by Yahoo - is was written by Daniel Bukszpan at CNBC. Most, if not all, items posted by Yahoo are written by non-Yahoo sources.

You're right. I may have to change my stance to one of "Most article written about education are tripe".

Possibly her MBA from Columbia University may have been helpful as well.

For some reason, the story doesn't mention that this financial analyst has an Ivy League MBA, in addition to her bachelor's degree in English (from Michigan).

These sorts of articles are similar to the statements of some people who say, "Bill Gates doesn't have a degree so college is useless." A small sample size that has been cherry picked can be used to prove anything. The most interesting stat is that liberal arts majors have twice the unemployment rate of others. I love English Lit but don't want to bag groceries for a living.
