UVa sent me a catalog in December that had a lot of online stuff in it.

Most schools promote the lack of separation and distinction between their distance programs and their main campus offerings. I believe we've had this discussion several times on this forum. However, UVA might actually use this to their advantage and actively state the differences between their online degrees and their main B&M degrees. An example would be for them to include "online" or "distance learning" on their transcripts.

I don't know that I'd agree with that. Everyone I've talked to who went to UVA was so high on Thomas Jefferson, they would often describe how he made UVA because W&M wasn't "good enough" and they still feel that way.

UVA actually has some online offerings. There aren't many, but there are some. Many of these are graduate education programs though.

Although friends who went to William and Mary say that as far as they're concerned, Thomas Jefferson was just another member of the class of 1762.

Distance and online learning is a big deal in higher education. Not only are more students taking online classes at traditional four-year colleges, but also the rise of innovative for-profit online schools is changing the landscape.
