I am looking at Kaplan's BS and then MS in Accounting. I teach for them so I can go to school for free. The only thing that I'll need to pay for are the books for the MS degree. My question is, has anyone here had luck finding a job in accounting with a DL accounting degree, or more specifically one from Kaplan. I know their rep, but hey, it's free. Do you think any of Kaplan's other options are better, finance, MPA, MBA etc. I already have a BS in CJ and a MA in English. Thanks, Adam
I do not have any suggestions on this since I do not have a Kaplan degree and do not know anyone with one. My question to you - do you teach full time or part time and on campus or online?
I was already working in accounting before I finished my DL accounting degree, so maybe I don't count. It might be difficult to acquire a decent accounting position with a Kaplan degree. Nevertheless, you could still take as many of the free Kaplan courses as you can and then transfer to an online accounting program like Washington State University. No one would ever question your accounting degree if it's from a major state university.
Are there any other schools besides the big three that allow you to transfer in all your credits? Adam
