Has anyone received a degree from wgu, and then gone into masters program with a traditional college.

I haven't but I hear good things about Western Governors masters program. I know some folks who look down upon getting your bachelors and masters at the same school though.

WGU is RA - you won't have any problems getting into a B&M graduate school specifically because your undergrad degree was earned online. That said, it depends on how competitive the graduate programs you are applying to are. It's going to be difficult to get into Wharton with a degree from WGU, but it is difficult to get into Wharton no matter where your degree is from. Your undergrad degree is only part of your graduate school application, and if you feel like having a WGU degree is a deficiency, then you need to address that deficiency elsewhere in your app packet. If your dream school requires essays or letters of recommendation, then you need to make sure yours are spectacular. If you need GRE or GMAT scores, then do the prep and blow the doors off the test. Schools evaluate the complete package. Having an RA undergrad degree is just part of the package. If the program you want to attend only requires that you have an RA undergrad with a decent GPA, then if you have a WGU undergrad with the required GPA, you are in pretty good shape.

    Good luck!

    1. It is absolutely impossible to get into an Ivy business program with an online undergrad unless that undergrad comes from a B&M, you have excellent GMAT scores and some contacts. Additionally, you need to pray that admissions doesn't notice the learning modality. Fortunately this isn't the case for all B&M Masters programs.

    2. Regardless of how good WGU's Business Masters programs are content-wise, they are not programmatically accredited. The MBA does not have ACBSP or AACSB accreditation, so other than for personal and some business uses, it's worthless. You won't be in good stead for B&M doctoral work with a WGU MBA.

    3. WGU's undergrad programs are RA as others have pointed out and I'm an example of someone that got into a nice business school with an undergrad from WGU. When looking for business schools I applied to public institutions with only my WGU credential and privates with my Northeastern credential. I was accepted to Isenberg and Fuqua, but I couldn't move due to family commitments at the time.

    Thanks,
    ITJD

I got a BA from Charter Oak in 2007 and just graduated from GA State with an MBA, so yeah it is definitely possible, at least from Charter Oak if not WGU....

It is possible; however, ITJD was talking about Ivy league schools. Let me know if you earn a Bachelor at WGU, then successful getting acceptance to Harvard Business School or Wharton Business School for MBA program.
