I understand and I even heard (can't say if it is true) that the accrediting agencies only allow X% of facility with a degree from that school (NCU facility with NCU degrees). Don't know if it is true but it sounds good to me.

I also heard (can't say if it is true) that the accrediting agencies states that X% of facility must have a terminal degree and a DBA is not considered a termainal degree. I know this is way off topic...sorry.

The biggest obstacle in changing the world is the need to accomplish it surreptitiously, for the world will never change willingly nor even wittingly.

Randell, I almost jumped in and defended NCU and then thought better of it. I am glad you did it for me as I would hate to be called a racist for doing so.
I have had 2 mentors that were NCU grads. My SKS5000 mentor in the MBA program received a CAGS in E-Commerce from NCU and my ECM7001 mentor received a PhD in Information Systems from NCU in 2007.
I think they have a quota they would like to keep. I can understand that.

Seriously doubt academic inbreeding is an issue at NCU.

    Gregory T. Bradley, PhD
    Dean of the Graduate School

    A. Lee Smith, PhD
Dean, School of Business and Technology Management

    Scott Burrus, PhD Vice Provost

are all NCU PhDs. I stopped looking so there could be more.

As a master's student NCU served me very well. No complaints. In fact, when I discussed NCU here years ago I was accused of being a shrill even though I was evenhanded in my discussions. My cousin who is currently a learner at NCU says the constant changes are a major nuisance.

As I mentioned years ago I would not consider NCU for doctorate. Nothing against the school but if I'm going to put in that kind of effort only an AACSB-accredited degree will suffice.

    Randell,

For ABSCP - a doctorate is a doctorate. There is no differentiation between a PhD, DBA, DM, etc.

An EdD is not a PhD, but they're both research doctorates. Sometimes those things are unintentional errors rather than deliberate mistakes.

    NSU Does

Nova Southeastern really isn't on-line - but they do employ full-time faculty that supervise dissertations.

As of 3/30 still listed as PhD even after I let them know about the "mistake."
