Why don't more people mention Northeastern when they talk about a good MBA program? It is ranked in US News and Report and doesn't require a GMAT. I know it is a little expensive but I have had a good experience with the school up-to-date. The only issue I have with the school is the price. I actually have to take time off because my TA and GI Bill won't cover me to go for the full year.

I am currently in the Air Force and even though my job doesn't have anything to do with the business world would the degree from Northeastern give me the best inside track? I am working on the MBA/MSF program. Thanks for any info.

I think you answered your own question: price.

LOL.. I was just curious if that was the only reason...

I looked at ASU online MBA and that one is $53,000, probably similar to Northeastern in price. I don't think most of the people who attend or have graduated from these programs are on this forum. IMO a Northeastern MBA would look great on anyone's resume. Good luck with the program and I hope you stick with it.

My bad, after reading some more posts I realize there are quite a bit of people on this forum who are attending or have graduated from Northeastern.

If cost was a concern, was there a reason why you picked Northeastern MBA over UMass Amherst MBA other than the GMAT requirement?

And if it is the GMAT requirement, did you consider Colorado State University which is much cheaper also with no GMAT requirement but not ranked as high?

I just got an email from an advisor stating that the Northeastern MBA is $71,000. Ouch!!! No wonder they don't post this on their website. Now I will probably get a phone call every week from a Northeastern salesperson...I mean advisor because of this inquiry.

The main thing I like about Northeastern is the Dual MBA/MSF program they have. I know it is pricey but for a couple more credits I will have a MBA and MSF. I considered Colorado State but I figured a school like Northeastern would look better on a resume because I do not have a lot of experience. I also considered UMass but the course are a little longer and harder with my schedule. I like Northeastern because most of the classes are short in length and works well with my schedule. I am in the military and deploy attend training etc and longer class durations are difficult for me.

I'm not enrolled in the MBA program, but I am about 2/3 through the Master of Science in Criminal Justice Leadership at Northeastern University. I have five classes left. I have nothing but positive things to say about NEU. They definitely have a strong distance learning program. I too like the shorter classes sessions (6 weeks), but there is no shortage in the work required in each class. The MBA probably carries a higher price tag because of the credential itself and how well known it is. The master's that I am completing is about $24,000.00. Not cheap, but still reasonable. NEU has quite a few master level programs that may cost less than the MBA.

Thanks for all the info, good for me and all others who are considering attending Northeastern. I've been looking at their Masters in Leadership too and their price is right around $24 grand also. For some reason, I thought their MBA was going to be about $50 grand so I was a little taken aback when I got the email but it is a solid program with good name recognition. Good luck to both of you and let us know your progress.

Northeastern's changed a lot since I completed my undergrad there. This stated, here's my opinion..

You can do better for less. Northeastern is the runt of the litter as far as Boston schools are concerned.

I might not agree that Northeastern is the runt of the Boston litter but I will say that you can do just as well for less.
