For some strange reason Michael Skopec of Illinois thought that by calling 911 they might help fix his broken iPhone. Mr Scopec dialed 911 five times before being arrested by police for obscruction of justice. After the five calls were made police traced the calls to his home in Illinois where they found him drunk and belligerent. He was arrested because he would not follow the police officers orders. It has yet to be made clear what he was actually trying to accomplish by calling 911 to get help with his iPhone. Although he was arrested he only faces misdemeanor charges and has to be in court next week. Makes you wonder, if his iPhone wasn’t working did he call 911 with it or another phone?
In NS there is a charge for that... "No person shall use or permit another person to use the telephone to place a false, frivolous or vexatious call to the number "911"" and results in a fine starting at $675. Clearly this chap would meet that if he lived in NS
I wonder if, in his drunken state, he was trying to call 611. Here in California, I don't know about anywhere else, 611 gets you to Verizon customer service on one of their phones. I dial it every time I have an issue.
Omg. This is just so sad. I've seen people who have just lost their phones...they absolutely panic like it is the end of the world!
WoW! Seems like another prank call to me as these security departments always gets these kinds of calls every now & then. This reminds me of a video I watched on YouTube which was about a little girl probably 9 or 10 years old, called a security agency asking for help to bomb her school. :saevilw:
