This is amazing. Maybe one of the most successful uses of unaccredited degrees I have ever heard of.

If they were legitimate unaccredited programs I'd support this approach. But aren't both of those mills?

Since he has moved several times, he said, he does not recall where he put his copy of the dissertation.

What I find disturbing is the fact that they continue to lie saying pretty much that every other person in the world who got a "degree" (actually a piece of paper) from those "companies" got it based on life experience but they got their's by hard work. It was "almost" a decade ago and she can't remember how much it cost? He can't find his dissertation. You were caught, stop the charade. If any sort of official investigation would happen they would be out of their jobs in minutes. It is easy to lie to a reporter but there are obviously many holes in the story that would make it easy to find the truth.

I can understand burning it because you never want to see it again but not losing it

Reminds me of Bill Clinton back in the 90s. "It depends on what the definition of 'is' is..."

I symbolically burned a copy of my thesis in my fireplace (along with all the journal articles I used as references), but I have the Word file saved on three computers, two flash drives, and 4 different e-mail accounts, plus the school has a hard copy in the library as well as the Word file in its database.

I dug out my hard copy of my dissertation a few weeks ago; read the first three pages and have trouble believing any of my committee actually read the entire work. But, like you, it was saved every conceivable way.
