    Hi All,
we must drink green tea twice in a day as it is great for health and besides losing weight and stress it has more benefits also. Some benefits of green tea are:
    It improves our immune system,
    It reduces tooth decay,
It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis,
It reduces the risk of cancer,
    It reduces cholesterol level,
It protects us from cardiovascular disease,
    It Prevents aging.

I drink at least one Dunkin Donuts extra-large (bladder-buster) cup of green tea every day, usually more than that. In addition to the reasons you listed, there is research showing that green (and white) tea helps with people suffering from depression and seasonal affective disorder.

    8 months coffee-free for me!

That's great!!! You probably have a lot more energy now. I wish we still had Dunkin Donuts out here in California. The coffee is number 1.

The very first DD's is still there (it was originally The Golden Kettle), and I go there for my green tea almost every day.

I drink one large cup of white tea every day. I am not coffee-free but close (3-4 cups per week).

I got really sick in January, and one of the medications I was on (Albuterol) made me all hyped-up, so I had to stop drinking coffee, and I was so sick that I didn't notice the withdrawal symptoms. Once I was out, I decided to just keep going with it.

If by "prevent aging" you are talking about antioxidants, so far research has not been able to confirm either the free radical theory of aging or that antioxidants consumed actually accomplish anything in the body. However, by doing everything else on the list (which are all true), aging will naturally be positively affected.

Research also shows that, in quantities of 4-10 cups per day, it helps to prevent cancer, lowers rates of diabetes, and aids in fighting off infection. Amazing isn't it? Even if none of it were true, I would still drink it due to the facts that I like the taste and that a warm cup of tea is a great addition to most any relaxation technique.

I prefer to cold brew my teas. I'll pick just one type that I'll have throughout the day, put a few bags in cold water and let it brew in the fridge overnight. It's very simple, and the flavor is more clean and consistent than if you brew it in hot water. Of course, you could always warm up your cold brewed tea for the best cup of hot tea you have ever had in your life, ever. I also like my tea straight. That is, without citrus, honey, sugar or spam.

    LOL, hopefully not!

People do put spam in DegreeInfo threads, which was the OP's purpose in creating an account.

If DD does to green tea what they do to coffee, I'll stick with bringing my own from home.

As good or better in health benefits than green tea is yerba mate. I lived in Japan for 6 years and drank green tea multiple times a day, but I can not begin to explain to you how much healthier, alert, and full of energy I have been since switching to yerba mate. It's cheap when bought in bulk, and can go a VERY long way.

Green tea is also a good source of Vitimin C.

You basically have two options with them 1) allow them to overseep it with water so hot it will taste burnt or 2) have them hand you the cup of hot water with tea bag, which will probably make you feel like you just wasted your money.

I definitely suffered from seasonal affective disorder, but this past winter I drank both DD and my own home-brewed (Lipton and Bigelow) green tea every day, and it helped like I can't even believe. As you mentioned, I have more energy, I'm more alert, and I have much better concentration.

A proponent in green tea called EGCG reduces the amount of lipids (fat) you absorb when you eat. This benefits your cholesterol level, causes weight loss and is very healthy for your heart.

You could have said so without adding a spam link into the post. Just sayin'.

Now, to follow up what I said 3 years ago. I'm not so confident anymore that there really is any benefit at all to green tea. I'd like to follow the research, but the research is inconclusive when you look at multiple studies. Hopefully they'll figure it out one day, but for now I'm more concerned with avoiding caffeine. Hence, very minimal amounts of green tea for me.

its true that green tea comes with lots of benefits, however, you need to be aware of the fact that there are several variants of it in the market, for instance, you have one with high antioxidant count, one thats caffeinated, therefore choose one respective to your health/preference.

    Hey,

Apart from the some very well known benefits of green tea, I came across this one which says green tea can help with constipation due to the presence of caffeine which acts as a laxative.
