I found out from Brandeis that I can switch from the MS in Project Management to the MS in Information Technology Management without losing any credits from the MSPM program. Now I just need to find out from Boeing if they will let me make the change. Also, I want verification that it's job-related so I will not have to pay taxes on tuition. I would like honest opinions from those out there who read this post that if I take this route would it be more beneficial to my career then if I continue in the MSPM program?

Also, there are other options that I can undertake that may complement my PM background. Maybe obtain a MS or Certificate in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Acquisitions and Procurement or Finance. I took a look at the University of Arkansas MSOM program and it looks like a bargain. However it is not on Boeing's list of preferred schools. There is a way around this, but I may have to jump through hopes to do this. It looks Boeing recommends a Supply Chain degree instead. It seems like the easiest solution would be if I switch to the MSITM program at Brandeis. I will have to take 7 more classes to obtain this degree.

At Brandeis, their PM program is pretty strong. You've already found that you've learned some worthwhile topics there despite already being credentialed in the field. Brandeis's IT program is ok - their required IT courses are quite good, but the program specifies too few of them. I like their business orientation. Their programming courses tend to be poor, so I'd avoid those as IT electives.

If you really, really want another Masters, go with the MS in IT Management. It is in a different enough field from your Masters in Management to not be repetitive.

If you work in any of Boeing’s defense sectors, you may want to pursue a defense-focused degree, for example an MS in defense program management or contract management.

Follow up to my post - Researching Options

Over the last few weeks I've been researching my options. My main goal is to remain marketable and employed. In my opinion the defense industry budgets are going to be cut soon. It's just a matter of time. I also do not want to be manager. I was a supervisor and I did not like the politics of it. I want to be marketable both within the defense industry and out of the defense industry in case I get laid off eventually. I also have to work within the confines of Boeing's thresholds on annual tuition limits which are $15,000 annually for Masters and $5,000 for a certificate. Below are the programs I've been researching.

Brandeis University – Continue pursuing MS in Project Management. Three more classes are needed to obtain the Graduate Certificate. I can continue with the program just to obtain the Graduate Certificate or finish the MS in PM. However, I already have a Certificate in PM from the Stevens Institute of Technology.

MS in Operations Management – University of Arkansas
Operations Management - For some reason this program appeals to me. However, this program is not on Boeing's preferred list of schools. There is a way around this but I will have to go through some red-tape to do it. I think the program can be justified on the total cost of the program. I can obtain the MSOM for less money than most certificate programs.

Certificate in Contract Management – St. Louis University
Complete the Contract Management Online Certification through SLU : Contract Management Online : Saint Louis University : SLU - This certificate is a 18-21 undergraduate program. Boeing helped create it. It is $590 per credit hour. 8 week terms, 5 terms per year. The program should be able to be completed in one year. However, since this is a certificate program it would have to be completed over a two year period since there is a $5,000 annual limit on certificate programs.

Master of Arts in Procurement and Acquisitions Management – Webster University
Webster University: Online Programs - I just started looking at this program. The program is accepted by DAU

Master of Science in Finance – Webster University
    Webster University: Online Programs
I always been interested in Finance

    MBA – Colorado State University
CSU Online Plus - Business Administration | Master's Degree | Online & Distance - Colorado State University
I like that I would not have to take the GMAT or GRE. - I do not know if I'm really interested in obtaining a MBA. This is the program I would attend though.

Advance Project Management Certificate – Stanford University
Stanford Advanced Project Management Courses | Online & On Campus - Would look good on the resume. However, no credit is received.

Supply Chain graduate certificate or MS degree - Boeing recommends Fontbonne University
Master of Science in Supply Chain Management :: Fontbonne University, St. Louis, MO
I wouldn't want to obtain the MS. The certificate would have to be obtained over several years due to funding limits.

Geospatial Intelligence Graduate Certificate – Penn State
Penn State | Online Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Intelligence | Overview - This program is interesting. There is no funding limit on this program at Boeing, because Boeing considers this a critical skill to have. I sent an email to the Director of Geospatial Intelligence at Boeing asking him is the Penn State certificate enough to allow me to move into this field. I received no response back.

Certified Cost Consultant certification through AACE
AACE International - Certification/Education - Certifications - I could forgot obtaining a MS or certificate and just concentrate on obtaining another certification to complement my PMP. Obtaining a CCC will be harder than obtaining the PMP. the CCE and CCC are well respected in the Construction industry.

Is there a better site out there than geteducated that shows all certificate programs?
