Sad to say, but I have no idea.

So now you do not like them because they do not have this program?

I guess you could say that I'm indifferent now. Back when they did have the MRS in Church History, I had them on my degree wish list.

They got rid of their Associate degree program sometime back, too. 86'ing some programs may have something to do with positioning for accreditation. I've noticed that when schools are trying to become accredited, or they drop an accreditor in favor of another, it's not unheard of for the school to make some drops. My guess is that if it's on an accreditor' recommendation it's probably because a program lacks the components an accreditor wants, and perhaps a school realizes it doesn't have the resources or the interest to revamp/re-tool so they drop it. Of course, lack of enrollment in a program will eventually play a determining factor, so it could be a matter here as well. Just throwing some thoughts out.

I can't remember off-hand for certain, but I seem to recall seeing a textbook in the syllabus for the BRS pertaining to church history so my guess is that there is at least a course or two on the subject.

I understand the logic behind dropping such programs, but it really is a shame. For those of us who have such interests but may not need to pursue them for professional needs, such programs fit a perfect niche market. I wish I knew of other such degrees that were academically solid but not ridiculously expensive.

Keep watching Distance Education and Training Council: The Global Leader in Distance Learning Accreditation. You could be the first to know! (Sorry, no prize that I know of, except you will be famous on DI for 15 minutes!)

My prev. experience tells me that at least a week - or even two - will elapse between the meeting and the announcement. Worth the wait! What's amazing is -any school newly accredited is usually flying the DETC flag on its internet site within HOURS of receiving the good news. I'm sure the schools get their web-meisters out of bed for that!

I've got a close, watchful eye on it because I'm enrolling the very second I see that shield.

There's a message on the Nations University student forum asking how the DETC meeting went. Dr. Lynn responded by stating that they're still working on it, but they're not there yet.

It's official: Nations University didn't make it. They've put themselves back on the list though, but the next meeting isn't until January. The only school that made it is the Grace Communion Seminary.
