The government financial aid website says:

Graduate and professional students enrolled in certain health
profession programs may receive additional unsubsidized Stafford Loan
amounts each academic year beyond those shown above. For these
students, there is also an increased aggregate loan limit of $224,000
    (maximum $65,500 subsidized).

    _______

I am getting close to maxing out on the standard loan limits of 138,500 so I am trying to find an online degree program that falls into the category with the increased loan limits.

It looks like there are a lot of Masters of Public Health degrees that fall into this category but I think that those programs in many of the online schools only work within the 138,500 lifetime limits. Have there been discussions about this previously?

Question 1) where did you go to school

Question 2) If you were to find a way to use more than the 135 to get a MPH how will you pay all that money back?

i went to a private university and my undergrade totals were over 100,000$ , so I am already pretty close to the limit.

I believe the increased loan amount are for aspiring doctors and lawyers. I don't think that an MPH would fall into that category but I could be wrong here. But I am with b4cz28....what job are you going to land with an MPH degree right off the bat that would allow you to pay back that much in student loans?

this is from the vanderbilt.edu website:

MPH student loan limits: The annual borrowing limit for students in the MPH program is $33,000 for 9 months or $37,167 for 12 months minus any amount received under the Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan Program. The maximum combined Subsidized and Unsubsidized aggregate loan limit is $224,000.

I am not necessarily stuck on doing an MPH program, I would be willing to do other medical degrees but I need it to have at least a significant online component (if not totally online).
