Hi, I am hoping to get in touch with anyone who has done this program. I want to know how well the program is run and your experience with it. I was a humanities major (Spanish) so anyone who has done an MBA after a major nonrelated please share your experience with the change also. I am hoping to focus more on entrepreneurship, which i know the georgia webmba doesnt do, so if there is another program online that is as reputable and cheap, please let me know. Thanks.

    Western Carolina University

I'm currently enrolled in the Masters of Entrepreneurship program through Western Carolina University. I begin taking classes this Fall. I have high hopes for this program.

    Some important notes:
    1) The in-take for new students into the program is every Fall, so you can't start in the Spring semester. There is talk of modifying this program to in-take during the Spring semester so it could change.
    2) You must have a minimum of 400 GMAT score. I'm not sure if they accept a GRE score but I know other institutions can triangulate around this score, too.
    3) WCU won the National Model MBA Entrepreneurship Program from the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). USASBE - Award Info They don't brag about this on their program website but I believe it's a very big deal. Also, if you visit that link find WCU and click on "Nomination Materials", this gives a detailed overview of the program structure (syllabus included) and its history. They claim their program was the first Master of Entrepreneurship in the United States.
    4) The program is conducted entirely online which I believe will be very convenient
    5) The program is 5 semesters in length (Fall, Spring, Summer, Fall, Spring)
    6) The total cost for out-of-state distance learning tuition is currently $19,667 ($655.54 per credit hour x 30 credits) WCU - Tuition

Here's the website for the program:

Good luck and maybe I'll see you in class.

    Hi there,
I just completed the WebMBA from Kennesaw State and overall it was a positive experience. You're correct though, there is no opportunity to designate a concentration in the program. This wasn't a big deal for me; I just wanted the general business core classes anyway. I also started the program with very non-business related degrees (BS in poli sci, and MA in writing, both from KSU as well). Since my undergrad and previous grad degrees were in the humanities, I had to do two courses the summer before classes began in the fall (accounting and finance prereq courses). Are you near KSU? If so, you might be able to work out something where you take a couple of classes in entrepreneurship and transfer them into the WebMBA program. They are generally helpful within the Coles College of Business, so I'd recommend emailing them there to ask specific questions. Even though I live near campus and had done two degrees on-campus at KSU, I still found the flexibility of doing the MBA online very appealing.

    Good luck!

Hi, I am thinking of going to KSU for online MBA as well. What would you say about job placement through KSU's online MBA program. Is the program ranked on a high standard? Any information on the program would help! Thanks,
