I don't need to watch "16 & Pregnant" or "Teen Mom." I teach high school. I see it every day.

You know, Survivor, Idol, Biggest Loser, etc., all deal with contestants winning something. So that kind of makes it a game show, right? And if game shows are reality tv, then I suppose it HAS been around for a while...

    Yes - indeed sad memories...

Yes, it was sad indeed. I remember seeing some episodes -- my ex-Mrs was quite "into" the show. The family name was "Loud," if I remember right..

I first saw Mr. Gandolfini in his superb performances as Tony Soprano. The show's concept - a troubled gangster in therapy - appealed to me. Perhaps we could have a "reality" show with REAL gangsters and REAL therapists - but not Dr. Phil, PLEASE! :silly:

Thanks for necromancing this thread. I just saw the storage wars show a couple of weeks ago. I didn't realize it was such a cut throat business! Pretty cool show, some of the things they find in storage are really interesting!!!!!!!

The last company I worked for, I actually worked with a former reality TV star. He was on 2 different reality shows for 2 different networks in the late 90's, I think. After getting to know him I realized why he was picked for these shows. He just had a natural charismatic quality about him and he was a natural in sales as well.

Funny thing is, we were eating together in Hollywood when a former cast member of Road Rules was eating at the same restaurant. Even though my former co worker and the guy from Road Rules met for the first time, those two were acting like they were long lost fraternity brothers. I thought it was unique situation seeing 2 reality stars chumming around but the other patrons at the joint didn't even bat an eye, but then again it is Hollywood so I guess this stuff happens all the time.
