I am a student at a state university in the States. I'm American, but I am wanting to move back to Taiwan with my wife, perhaps indefinitely.
I am in my second year of Mechanical Engineering. I am wanting to continue school online when I go back to Taiwan.
    I have a few questions:
Can I get financial aid for an online school (I currently receive grants and student loans from the government and my state uni)?
Will the amount received (more specifically the refund amount) be close to what I already receive?
Will my State Uni credits transfer to the online school?
Is there a good online school offering a degree in Engineering, or a good online school to recommend?
And, will a degree say anything about being an online school, and if so, how does an employer see that?
    Thanks in advance.

The only online school I know of that offers ABET accredited engineering degrees (mechanical engineering included) is University of North Dakota: UND - Online Engineering. I believe there are still small residencies required, though. Since you're moving to Taiwan, ABET might not be so important so there may be other options as well, though I'm not aware of them.

Atrox is correct you should consider options that will give you what you need more importantly the educational requirement. Secondly the method of leveraging your tuition. Since you will be moving to Taiwan consider the factor involved cost of school, cost of living, work etc. I wish the best in this endeavor and please keep us posted. Remember there is always an option(S)... :)
