Have you considered BIOLA's Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics? Not exactly a philosophy degree, but it necessarily will include philosophy courses (and philosophical discussion in many others) and will likely be considered in higher regard in most evangelical circles. It does require summer on-campus intensives though which may not be an option for you, and I'm not sure how much it costs but it'll definitely be more than HA:

To be honest with you, if there is a program out there, I have researched it! BakersGuide is a great resource, and I have looked at nearly every accredited school/seminary in the US that accepts Gov funding. I found Holy Apostles MA Philosophy, and wanted some advice about that program.

RTS has a program that is fantastic, but they do not accept tuition assistance. My desire is to attend seminary for an MDiv in a few years.

Do you know about Campbellsville's MTh?

Or are you just looking at a Philosophy degree for now?

I was just considering the Philosophy program at Holy Apostles, but I do really appreciate that link.

Perhaps the Phil program will not be as rigid in the "very Catholic" world as their Theo program is going to be (for me).

By "very Catholic" I am trying to highlight that Roman beliefs that are quite alien (different) from your own Reformed theology. For instance, the significance of Holy Tradition (the writings of the Church Fathers) as having the same authority as Holy Scripture (which was of course a major dispute during the Reformation).

The ICU website course listings should provide quite a bit of insight into the Phil program.

Just found this forum. I am in the MA Theology program at Holy Apostles. I like that it is regionally accreditted. Working in higher ed, I know that an RA degree is the foundational ticket to getting an adjunct position, etc.. The school is not "Jesuit." I don't mean that in a positive or negative way. They also are not using the material from International Catholic Univ as much. Most courses have other texts, etc.. The school is indeed Catholic. But practically from a historical, conservative standpoint. I have not found any us vs. them mentality. For example, the Christology class I took a few years ago used Aquinas' Summa as the "text." It was great and challenging doing direct learning from Aquinas. I can't comment much on the philosophy program. Some classes are more interactive than others. Some require regular posting on blackboard. Others are more independent in nature - with reading and papers due at certain times. These are just some thoughts off the top of my head. Will try to respond to other questions.
