Well, I just graduated with an MA in General Psychology from University of the Rockies and got a great counseling/case manager job because of it. I have begun to submit my application for online teaching at various schools in hopes of getting some of those classes soon. Meanwhile, I needed three more classes in marriage and family and one more practicum course all required by the state of Tennessee so that I can pursue licensure in marriage and family therapy. So I decided that since I need to do this that it would be really smart to take an extra few courses and earn the complete 33-hr degree in counseling/psychology. Three of my psych courses transfer in, so I will be taking a total of 7 more courses to get this degree! Staring May 31st for the summer session. Anyone with experience at University of West Alabama that has advice for me, I would love to know about your experience and how I can excel there in this online degree...

I completed the MSCE in 2008. The UWA is a great school, the instructors are top of the line, the material is revelant, and the tests are timed using sometype of electronic monitoring device (which was not used during my tenure). But, don't assume the program is easy, it is not and it requires a large amount of research and writing. Some thought the statistics course was difficult but since I had a minor in stats in my MBA program I thought it rather elementary. I think you will be pleased with the program. Good luck.

    Psydoc,

That sounds great! What is the weekly expectation for assignments? Are the tests open-book? Discussion board requirements?

There are weekly postings on a discussion board; a weekly paper, and a major paper and a final. The finals at the time were open book and timed; I am not sure how the tests are now structured.
