    I'm an IT Consultant which generally means I do anything for anyone at any time as it pertains to tech. My specialties are ITIL, Turn around management and drinking metric tons of caffeine. Secondary areas include web development and penetration testing though to be fair, there are people far better versed at those things than I.

    I left a pretty static job as a director level service delivery person due to environment toxicity and am still trying to figure out what the next segment of life is going to bring.

    Something happened recently. I got a promotion! :party:
    I've had to modify my sig line because I am no longer the Queen of Cubicles, I now have a real office with a door and a big front wall made of glass (lots of fun sticking messages up on that glass wall). For years I volunteered to help out on other projects and so I made a lot of friends. Now that's my job, I'm a fixer. Ever been in a situation where you've said, "If only we had one more person, one more hand to do ____ ."
    Now that would be me. I am permanently and temporarily on loan. My big problem now is that I also got a raise and I'm making more money than I ever could as a teacher and so my Math degree plan is wilting in the summer heat. Right now I'm thinking Masters in Engineering or some sort of hardcore PM/MBA degree. I never thought I'd go the IT route but I could now make a strong case for that direction as well. Too fun!

    Hmmm..okay, let me try.

    1.) Whataburger - 16 years old
    2.) Chuck E. Cheese - also 16 years old and that's where I learned to work on electronics
    3.) DSL Technician II (call center secondary tech support)
    4.) Network Engineer (awesome job building a data center and maintaining a network, but worked for a scumbag)
    5.) Armored Car Courier - Dot Com burst and I had bills to pay. We had 3 people killed in the company during my 7 mo. tenure so I had to get out...too dangerous.
    6.) Federal Law Enforcement - Stuck with it for 7 years, specialized in intelligence and supervised security operations of about 20 some odd officers depending upon time of day, etc.
    7.) IT Project Analyst - Essentially a mix of project manager and liason between other project managers and senior managers.

    You need to add that DETC degree to your sig! There is no shame in it.

    I'll get on that but just to be clear, I'm not ashamed of my AS in Criminal Justice from Ashworth College in the least. If it hadn't been for my success there it's unlikely I would have gone to college at all. I simply did not list it because a BS in CJ implies the associates degree. Same with my resume, I do not list the AS degree, too little valuable real estate to do so.

    I played a Stratocaster and a Fender Lead II through a Fender Twin Reverb for many years. In the 80s, I found an Ibanez AM50 (similar to a Gibson ES-335, except with a smaller body) at a local music store and it became my main electric guitar (I sold the two Fenders to friends). As a big Beatles fan, I also acquired a 1967 Rickenbacker 360-12 electric and a 1967 Hofner Beatle violin bass. My main acoustic guitar is an acoustic-electric Martin. Unfortunately, all of these gitars, along with several other instruments, were damaged in a house fire in 2008 and the Martin was completely destroyed.

    I am trying to rehab the Ibanez, Rickenback and Hofner and am playing another Ibanez hollowbody in the mean time. The Martin has been replaced and I have two Fender acoustics (a 6 string and a 12 string). My main amplifier has been a Mesa Boogie Studio 22, which, when I add an extension cabinet, is quite loud enough for most gigs.

    So are we listing what we HAVE done for a living, or what we currently ARE doing? I see posts stating both... so I'll just write what I currently do now.

    * Mental Health Counselor/Therapist intern - 30 hrs/wk
    * Full time Student - 14 credit hrs
    * Mental Health Worker at local psych hospital - 8 or 16 hrs/wk
    * Researcher - 10 hrs/wk (what I am paid for anyway)
    * Cashier at local food co-op - 6-8 or 12-16 hrs/wk
    * Independent musician and artist - as much time as humanly possible!!!
    * (most recently) Wedding Celebrant/Officiant - whenever you want to have a wedding ceremony

    Thanks.

    I'm a Program Analyst in the research and development side of the US Army. My job is an interesting mix with information technology, knowledge management, business process improvement, acquisitions and project management.

    I have many years of experience in the hospitality industry (still miss the people), my most recent military and civilian experience was IT (networking) related.

    Military service:
    Marine Corps, 7 years active duty. Machinegunner and then admin clerk.
    Army National Guard, 3 years part-time in the guard, Human Resources (admin clerk again)
    Air National Guard, 4 years and going strong part-time in the guard (with a year long active duty tour thrown in for fun), Cyber Transport (I drive data through networks, virtually).

    I love Mesa Boogie amps...drop dead sexy sound. My fave is a Vox though, the AC15 with a Top Boost with a Fender Telecaster is "THE" Texas sound IMHO. I tried several Rickenbackers but have always found I fat finger the crap out of the strings on such a small neck. Sorry to hear about your house fire.

    As for acoustics...what? No John Lennon signature Epiphone?

    Okay, I think this is more interesting if I list a brief history of my jobs, but I'll start with my current work:
    ~College professor (both face to face and online).
    ~High School Teacher
    ~Elementary Teacher
    ~Truck stop waitress
    ~Farm girl (milked cows, this was most of my work up until around age 30. I started college just before turning 30)
    ~Worked at McDonald's, a sewing factory, and a plastic plastics factory during my 18-21 years range.

    I graduated from high school in 1977, earned my BS in 1994, earned MAT in 2001, earned Ph.D. in 2010.
