Way to go! And I'm with you on how ROI gets hyped. My BS and MA were for professional reasons, and have paid off, but I consider my doctoral tuition to come from the entertainment budget.

And a sorely needed success story it is... However, you aren't done yet... Many a doctoral candidate has been stopped by some personality-disordered committee member at their oral defense, even after a successful oral defense. They just refuse to sign the dissertation and you are left hanging.

Please report back to let us know when you dissertation is finally resting in UMI.

Thank you, Connie, and I do agree:

My departure from NCU comes at a fortunate time for me...if NCU continues to experience "issues" I am not sure where its future is headed. :(

Again - nicely done. As far as the ROI goes, in your situation with your stated goals there is no problem with an NCU degree or any other for-profit. I think where the issue gets muddled is when those without a realistic expectation of how a 100% online Doctorate will limit them are surpirsed to find there is well-defined bias in higher education towards these programs.

One of the best quotes I've seen on DI.

    BTW....congratulation, Dr. basrsu!

    Basaru:

Congrats! You helped me a lot with the decision to take the Ed.S at Northwestern and I really appreciated it. I also agree with your initial points, I could give a s**t about ROI, I just like to study and take courses while moving upward. My next plan is to take the Aspen Ed.D in September. Cheers!
