Just got one really lousy Christmas present. I just had to put my 15 year old dog to sleep today. So sad.

That sucks. My parents had to do the same thing on the 23rd with their 15 year old Elkhound.

So sorry to hear that. I know it is very hard. My female Akita died a few years back. I had to take her to emergency, and there was no other choice but to put her down. I insisted on holding/hugging her while they gave her the lethal shot. Although it was very hard, I did not want her to be alone in the end. It was over very quickly.

I am sure your precious dog had a very good life.

I'm a grow man and yall are bringing tears to my eyes.......the thought of losing my dog would just kill me. MO that's so bad, any you've got children as well. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the kind words my friends. It's rather silly how attached we get to those animals, but it's really tough to lose one. Funny thing is that my daughter didn't care that much and my wife was sad, but OK; I'm the one it tore up. So much for tough, stoic Dad. It's the next day and I'm feeling better now, so it's all good.

I'm the same way. I can't go into a jewelry store without looking at the watches. I added another nice watch to my collection this Christmas.

    so sorry Michael-

my kids got me a board game called Guts and Scabs (or is it Scabs and Guts?) which is a super fun "meducation" game for all ages, hubby bought me a Miche Bag (you boys will have to google it- so cool), Idiots Guide to Physics book, and a Soda Stream lol! I really wanted one of those. My best girl gave a $100 donation to the Bryce Campbell Lymphoma Treatment fund in my name.

I have more fun giving, that's my favorite! We gave my third son got Rosetta Stone French, my second son heavy metal drum lessons (!), my hubby a police scanner (very cool toy btw!), my oldest got some name brand clothes (cuz I'm usually too cheap), and we bought TONS of stuff from Heifer International for everyone else. We gave sheep, bees, ducks, geese, and chickens.

I <3 amazon for watches... they have incredible deals on (ie. invicta watch regular $2k on for $239... you CAN'T beat deals like that!).. and yes, I spend too much $ on watches, also.

Way to go Jen!!!!! You are not only a good person, but it is apparent you are a great parent. Humanity is amongst the most valued of virtues.

You make me unhappy where I live too; I miss SoCal. So, can we call even?

    b4cz28,

They are all hooked up to one computer. Even though I have a server, and an extra desktop for Linux system only.

I got (in a manner of speaking) a part interest in a decrepit Mongolian truck. Our twins made a donation in my name to Kiva (Kiva - Loans that change lives), the splendid organization that makes small loans to would-be entrepreneurs, mostly in 3rd world countries. My donation helped fund a $925 loan to a man in rural Mongolia whose coal delivery truck needed repairs. Even a $25 donation can make a major difference in someone's life. Worth a look.

(And if anyone needs coal, I'm sure that Lkhagvasüren will gladly deliver it, although the rates may be a bit steep.)
