Good morning! It appears there are a few graduate-level programs in economic development in the US, including the following: MPS in Community and Economic Development at Penn State MS in Community and Economic Development at the University of Central Arkansas MS in Economic Development at Southern Miss (blended program) There are some related programs such as the following: MS in Community Development (Building Economic Capacity Track) at Kansas State and other Great Plains schools MS in Applied Economics (Regional Economic Development Concentration) at Georgia Southern Does anyone have any other suggestions for US-based graduate programs in Economic Development? Thank you for your consideration.
At the graduate level I don't. But if you want the industry standard you should look at the Oklahoma EDI course. OU/EDI - World's Economic Development Teacher - University of Oklahoma I attended two of the three sessions while serving as Director of the local Chamber of Commerce / Industrial Development board. The material is fantastic but the networking is unbelievable. I would consider it the gold standard of ED and one instance where the information gained would outweight a graduate degree. I would join IEDC as well http://www.iedconline.org/.
Johns Hopkins MA in Applied Economics with a concentration in international Economics and Development. 10 courses, 2 in residence, but you can take those two courses in a three weeknformat.
University of Houston, Victoria has a nice program in Economic Development & Entrepreneurship: Welcome to the University of Houston-Victoria School of Business Administration, offering the AACSB-accredited Strategic MBA Online, Globa MBA Online, and Master of Science in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Online
Southern New Hampshire University offers a PhD and MS in Economic Development. Peru State College offers a concentration in their Organizational Management master's program. Yale University, Vanderbilt University, Illinois State University, and Boston University all offer programs related to economic development. You did not specify whether you are interested in DL programs or in traditional face-to-face programs. I'm sure you can sort through those details from each school of interest.
I found this grad cert: Framingham State University - Graduate and Continuing Education - Certificate Programs - Graduate Certificate Sustainable Development and Policy
University of North Dakota's Master of Science in Applied Economics University of Houston @ Victoria's Master of Master of Science in Economic Development & Entrepreneurship
