Just checking in with my monthly-ish update :) This one is a short one, because it’s mostly more of the same old, same old… Still plugging away at my classes but I finished the Quant Hump! I just started Operations Management now, which is great because I needed a breather after all of those difficult classes in a row. After that it’s just my concentration classes (Health Care Admin) and I am DONE! Baby and I are good, just extremely busy, and I am finding it to be difficult to concentrate on my courses as much as I did previously. I honestly just want to finish this degree. I’m not quite “hitting the wall” yet, but I’m close. I’m exhausted, mentally and physically, and setting aside the time to multi task and do the DQ assignments plus homework gets more and more difficult. My grades are still good (although the Quant Hump made me take some B’s) but I’m just counting down til I’m done now.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like it is all down hill from here!

I will not say that the remainder is easy, but, if you can continue to devote the time and effort that you applied to the quantitative courses, it will feel much easier. You are now very close to finishing, hang in there and you will be fine. Thanks for sharing your update.

Hi all! Just wanted to briefly check in again. Ashford is going well and the MBA program is going well thus far. I’m over the Quant Hump and working on concentration courses right now (yayyyyy something I’m interested in!) The courses are much more manageable, workload is easier, less people in the course (20 students in my current course) and the ones who are left seem to have “gotten it” so discussions are a lot better than they were in the beginning of the program.
My stress levels have gone down and I’m actually hitting my stride and feeling comfortable with the program- so much so, I’m considering what my next step will be and what degree I will pursue next. I know that I WILL pursue something; I’m just not sure what it will be. I’m kicking around a few different ideas :)
Can’t wait to be able to say I’m finished and add MBA to my resume! :)

Congrats...after I finished the Quant Hump I was ready for a vacation...what a beating. You'll be done in no time, it's all down hill from this point.

Hi all! Just wanted to check in for a (long overdue) update. Ashford is going well and I am 3 weeks away from finishing my MBA! Wow, I am so unbelievably excited and can't wait to take what I've learned and use it as a springboard for bigger and better things! Had I to do it all over, I am not entirely sure I would have picked Ashford, but it worked for me and I know I've learned a ton. What the ROI will be, I can't say, but I'm confident about the knowledge it gave me, at least.

Congrats on finishing. Ashford wasn't my first choice either but looking back I'm glad I did it. It facilitated a much needed career change and though I'm not making the money I would like, I'm doing okay and with the work I am doing now I doubt I will be at the salary I am at for long. I don't think I would have even had an opportunity without an MBA.

So I assume you finished and are happy with it. What did you end up doing with the MBA? Are you pursuing anything else academically now?

6 weeks classes sound amazing! What is the classroom environment like? I have the 9/11 GI Bill and the 6 week classes allow for more pay to go into my pocket for BAH than the 16 week courses. I'm not convinced that I want a regionally accredited school or a AACSB school. I'm still in the deciding factor of my choices.
