Curious if anyone has any experience with this school.

    Thanks

It is not regionally accredited, but it is DETC accredited. That accreditation would work for some applications and not as well for others. You might check with employers to see if it will take you where you want to go.

I did have experience with this school. I don't like to say anything bad about a school but when I enrolled at CalUniversity they made me pay an application fee which was $75.00 and also made me pay a $10 registration fee and also for tuition which at the time last year they were offering a scholarship kind of program which one course was something like $77.00.

I enrolled in a course and the problem was that I could get into my account, but when it came to the course being set up properly it never got set up so that I could log into the course and take the course. I talked with several people there at the school to let them know that I couldn't get into it, but they would always say just give it a few more days and it will be set up.

I finally got fed up with the course not being set up that I told them to refund my money that I paid for the course. The problem was that I wasn't officially ever in a course and the only thing that they would do is refund me $77.00 even though a course was never set up so I wasn't really officially ever enrolled in the course.

I said that this was poor customer service and that they should also refund the application fee of $75.00 and the $10.00 registration fee. They refused. The school stated that the application fee is non-refundable, and that the course registration fee of $10.00 is non-refundable.

Nevertheless, I could go on and on about it, but I never received good customer service from this school and they continued to send me unsolicited phone calls and e-mails even when I told them to stop. That is my experience. I have been to other DETC schools and they were much better at customer service.

I wouldn't recommend this school, but that's based upon my poor experience with them. It seems to me the school is mostly interested in charging fees for everything instead of trying to help out the student.

Thanks for the feedback, don't feel uncomfortable giving your opinion that's the whole function of this website. We don't always agree however honest feedback helps me and others make informed decisions.

    Thanks

I can certainly understand your frustration with the school. I'm sorry you had such a bad time. However, it is standard policy at any school for the application fee to be non-refundable. I'm not necessarily supporting the school because I don't know much about it, but refusing to refund your application fee is not unusual in any way.

I enrolled and took one class at CalUniversity.

I too had some difficulty with my online student portal initially but the problem was corrected almost immediately and the tech support people gave me an alternative url that allowed me to log directly into the classroom without going through the normal student login.

In the doctoral program, the course work consists mostly of weekly case studies and anlysis with a large project due at the end including a Power Point presentation. I think it is a good fit for someone that is looking for a program that is really geared toward working in business.

I've recently gotten involved with a start up company. Due to my time limitations, I decided with withdraw until such time that I feel I can manage the work load of school and my personal life. Based on my limited experience, I wouldn't hesitate to return at some point in the future.
